Just got a 1.0 original Xbox with a faulty Phillips drive (Code 11)

I would like to learn how to bypass the drive check and soft mod or hard mod if necessary. This will be my first time modding a console and I don’t care if I mess it up, although I’d prefer not to. Thank you!
