Ghost Of Yotei DualSense with matching PS5 plates!

This combo is out of this world, honestly
Others who have the Ghost Of Yotei DualSense, do you like the design? I think they did an amazing job.

My first custom dualsense. Is it okay to paint the touchpad?

This is my first ever customizing a dualsense. I go with a red candypaint finish. Is it okay to paint the touchpad? I kinda afraid it will cause any sensitivity trouble eventhough I cover the pcb

My custom Volcanic Red DualSense 🔥

I spent part of today unboxing and upgrading a brand new Volcanic Red DualSense controller. I removed the stock joystick modules and installed K-Silver JS13Pro+ TMR modules. I removed the stock buttons and added retro PlayStation buttons. I also wrapped the touchpad with automotive black carbon fibre vinyl to give the controller a custom look. I think it turned out really nice. This was the last of the Deep Earth Collection I wanted add to go along with my Cobalt Blue & Sterling Silver controllers. I gave them the same custom treatment (as well as the stock white controller that came with my PS5 Pro).

I am extremely impressed with the K-Silver JS13Pro+ modules. They are so light and smooth- once you try them it’s hard to use anything else. I have been installing Gulikit NS51 modules for about the last year and had those modules in my personal controllers as well. These JS13Pro+ are better.

I removed all of the Gulikit modules and replaced them with JS13Pro+. The Gulikit modules are shorter to account for their taller thumb-stick so if you prefer to use a stock DualSense thumb-sticks it ends up being about 1-2mm shorter and even though they felt super smooth I found myself beating them up quicker like grinding and denting the accent rings and thumb-stick shafts. Once I switched to the K-Silver modules the height was identical to stock when paired with stock DualSense thumb-sticks and now I’m not beating the rings and sticks up as drastically, in fact- a light wipe down with a micro fibre cloth after intense NHL26 gaming and the rotation feels completely smooth again (no roughness from grinding wear).

Anyways, just wanted to share. Hope you guys like 🙌😃.

To tmr/hall joystick fix the other issues?

I already replaced my stuck 3 times, once because of the drift but the 2 other times Beacause the joystick felt less smooth but noisy( like an old door you would put oil into it's brackets) Idk if im the only one who gets annoyed with theses situation but I was wondering if getting thoses new tmr or hall stick fix this issue.

DualSense Edge - Module randomly disconnects/flashes during gameplay after GuliKit TMR installation. Need help troubleshooting

**Background / What I did:**

I recently installed GuliKit TMR joysticks into my DualSense Edge stick modules. Everything went smoothly — both modules were unlocked, calibrated, wire removed, modules reassembled, and reinstalled into the controller. The controller worked perfectly for a couple of days.

**The Problem:**

Mid-session, while actively playing a multiplayer match on PC (after 10-20 minutes) the controller started flashing its lights, the same behavior as when you physically disconnect a stick module. It feels like the controller is temporarily failing to detect one of the modules. The issue is **not constant**: it happened during gameplay, I disconnected a module, popped it back in and the controller worked for several minutes. Failed again, now disconnected the other module, popped it back in and it worked. It gets to a point where not even reconnecting them helps.

---

**Important considerations / things I've already noted:**

- This issue started **immediately after the TMR installation** — never happened before on stock modules

- **Both modules are still in UNLOCKED state**. I removed the wire after calibration but never sent the lock command via software. I'm aware this is not the intended state for normal use and the README explicitly says to lock the modules after calibration.

- On one of the modules, the **small solder blob on the test point fell off** at some point. I've inspected and cleaned the PCB with isopropyl alcohol but couldn't confirm where the solder went, it may have been loose inside the module casing.

- The gold contact pins on both modules look brand new — I never touched them during installation.

- The wire used for the unlock was fully removed from both modules before reassembly.

- The metal retention levers are properly lowered and the faceplate clicks into place correctly.

- The TMR solder joints on one module look somewhat rough/balled in some spots, possible cold joints.

---

**What I've tried so far:**

  1. Visual inspection of both module PCBs under light

  2. Cleaned both PCBs with isopropyl alcohol to remove flux residue

  3. Confirmed physical seating of both modules (levers down, faceplate clicked)

**What I haven't done yet:**

- Send the NVS **lock command** to both modules (tried this today and for some reason the software fails to lock the modules back up. I soldered the same wire I used to unlock them.)

- Reflow any potentially cold TMR solder joints

- Test each module in isolation to identify which one is causing the issue

---

**My main questions:**

  1. Can leaving the modules in **NVS unlocked state** cause intermittent detection failures during gameplay? The controller firmware doing periodic module verification while in an unexpected state seems like it could explain this.

  2. If the loose solder blob from the test point ended up somewhere inside the module, could that cause an intermittent short that manifests as a module disconnect?

  3. Has anyone seen this specific symptom (mid-game module disconnect flash) after a GuliKit TMR install and resolved it?

Any help appreciated. Will update the thread once I send the lock command and test

Retro style PS5 controller

Took a vision and ran with it, the other version had a red touchpad and is out of my hands now. TMR's in it because I put them in every single one I do. Just wanted to see some other individual's thoughts on it.

Concerned about the durability of the Dualsense (i dont own one) and about the Pico 2W Adapter

Hello, i was considering getting a Dualsense to play games like Returnal on PC. I haven't used a Dualsense to this day but i disliked the DS4 controller. Im only interested in this because of the haptics, but im unsure if its worth it getting a DS5 for only 1-3 games that i plan to play and have support for the haptics.

Would you say the haptics are worth it and if yes, are they still worth it once you got accustomed to them?

I read a lot about durability and quality issues with this controller. I will definitely use aluminum stickheads and tmr sticks. But i heared about breaking triggers, very bad battery live and broken usbc ports and such stuff more frequently than i like. What is your experience with the durability of the controller aside the stock stick drift issue?

For those that have done the Pico 2W adapter, how well does it work? Is it plug and play (once you initially configured it)? Are the haptics etc. the exact same as using the controller wired? What about latency (for inputs and also the haptics)?

I personally use a Xbox one s controller since they released without any issues. I am also planning to buy a steam controller (v2). The Dualsense would therefore only be for the games that actually benefit from the haptics.

EDIT: also how loud are the haptics triggers when playing without a headset?

I would love to hear your feedback,

Greetings

Chriss

What do you think, guys?

Besides the external modifications, it also has 3000mAh battery upgrade and K-Silver JS13 Pro sticks installed.

If you ever have an issue with the adaptive trigger unexpectedly “triggering” when it’s not being used, or if the adapted button press feels “incomplete”.

You might have a tiny snapped piece inside, and the trigger itself might have a worn edge. Photos attached.

2 photos correspond to the triggers, the other two with the “track” the adaptive feature slides on. Fifth photo is of part of the snapped off piece.

It was stuck inside my controller and causing some issues with the trigger sometimes feeling like adaptive was on. (I don’t normally use it, but sometimes I do.)

[PS5] BDM 050 Won’t Turn on

I was fixing this BDM 050 for my cousin, but it won’t turn it on matter what I tried. I was looking for any bridging, but only found something weird on the pins of the main IC. is that the problem? I have only fixed BDM 030s before, but never 050s.

Edit: Yall do know not all pins need to be soldered for it to turn on? plug a USBC and you would see the orange light turn on which indicates power.
