UDIRC Sierra Max 1st run today

I added the parallel wiring harness, installed the XC C-10 esc and applied the decals yesterday. I should have taken pictures of where I ran it but oh well. I had a combined 10800 Mah, and it ran for an hour? Some in my yard and a whole lot at a park.

It's fantastic. I don't think it is a good first car, but someone who has been in the hobby with some experience, I think it is a must have model. It does traction roll but once you get used to driving it, it's not too bad. The suspension action is awesome to watch.

I will be tuning the diffs and probably swapping in a 35kg 9iMod servo sometime soon.

It is incredibly engaging to drive, on of the best scale cars to date. It's engaging like the Kyosho Turbo Scorpion or Javelin

UDIRC Sierra Max UDR

Derby City RC did a review 6 days ago. This truck ticked all the boxes of what I have been wanting. Dumborc radio gear (I use Dumborc for basically all my cars) 3 tuneable diffs, scale desert truck with solid rear axle and more. The review says it all...

I did order matching batteries from amazon and will be adding a parallel battery plug set up for a total of 10400 MAH of 3s running. There was a discount code from UDIRC so the price was $370ish dollars. Which currently seems like great value for $$$ for a 1/10 UDR

My Mad Wagon has a body count.

This is body #3. The last one was the 56 Chevy. Both are Pro-Line. This one is a bit smaller than the 56, but that might be a plus.

Getting the Baja Champ ready for beach season

I posted this car last year when I was in South Carolina. Anyway, I vented the tires and re-glued the tires, sand in the tires was a major problem last year. I also added a heat sink for the motor to help with cooling

FPV Qbit Maverick

I finally got around to adding a camera to my free Cyber Monday promo car from Amain. It went in pretty easy. The camera set up replaces the drivers, the whole thing works pretty well.

Little trip up North (Wisconsin)

My wife is trying the Arma Granite I just picked up and converted to brushless, the throttle was set to about 50%. She usually won't even try my cars. But she finally gave it a go and really enjoyed it. The video is short but at least the quality is terrible

Cheap Granite diff upgrade

It has a card in the box that says it's "brushless ready" well mine definitely was not. After maybe 10 minutes of running it sheared of three teeth in the front ring gear. Amazon specials to the rescue, about $50 for the pair. The internal gears from the factory diff went right in. I used the included steel pinions from the kit, and saved the stock ones as spares.

My brushless setup isn't crazy either, 2s, Hobbywing 10BL60 and Castle 3800kv 3650 (The motor does seem spicy though)

Sale Granite brushless conversion

Well the stock Mega electrics lasted all of 24hrs, too slow for me. I had a Hobbywing BL1060 and a Castle 3650 3800kv green can motor just sitting around. In they went. The top speed is over 30 mph on 2s. I don't know that the stock Mega drivetrain will handle 3s, so I am not going to try it for now. On 2s it is plenty lively and drives really well (15t pinion).

The batteries fit much nicer on edge vs flat and that is how I will be putting them from now on. They are hardcase so it seems to work just fine. a 3300kv, 3100kv motor might be a better choice.

The "cheap" granite is here...

For $139, it looks pretty darn good. I already soldered on the xt60 connector, now I am charging a battery. I went through my electronics and I have a 4500kv KK series Surpass motor and a Hobbywing BL1060 just sitting around... Hmm...

A RC car guy finds a Plane

A Great Planes PT-40 was literally thrown out on the curb at a house a couple of blocks away from me. It was in too good of shape to just get tossed, so I grabbed it.

I don't know how to fly something like this so I used it as decoration in the garage at the family cabin. I am guessing it is from the 90s...

That's my 1/8 scale Beetle for a reference

Seriously didn't need another car at all but for $139 I just bought it... A brushed Arrma Granite from Horizon Hobby. Somebody asked a brushless KV question so, I googled the Granite to make sure I was thinking of the right car, I was, and saw the sale price. I ordered so fast that I missed that Amain had the same price. I like Amain quite a bit, nothing against Horizon, but Amain has been good to deal with and Brett puts out pretty good content on YouTube.

I am going to leave it bone stock for friends and family...

So it will probably be brushless in a month or two.

I have an rc problem

I took these 3 out today, and those re-re's are just a blast to drive. Unique driving experiences for sure but so much fun. The Dune Master is up next...
