Do these variations change the meaning of the Mars symbol to you?

I’ve been trying to unpack the meaning of the astrological symbols on a more granular level. There’s a shared language of circles, crosses, and curves across the symbols, but the arrow always struck me as a little “clip art” coded on the Mars symbol (I’m aware this is the traditional way it was drawn, but see The Tiffany Problem). Sagittarius suffers from this problem as will imo, but as Sag literally represents a bow and arrow I’m more inclined to accept it as is.

I’m curious what y’all think about swapping the arrow for a lightning bolt. Does this change the core meaning of this symbol? Or does it effectively capture the same spirit. How much overlap is there on a Venn Diagram with Lightning Bolt on one side and Arrow on the other?

For that matter, does Mars need to be angled to the right? Or can it point straight up without changing meaning? Uranus is sometimes drawn this way (circle with dot in the center, with straight up arrow on top) but to me the point in the center of the circle is what differentiates Uranus and Mars more-so than the angle of the arrow.

Very curious to hear y’all’s thoughts on this.

I [M27] feel jealous of one of my GF’s [F26] relationships, even though I’m not worried about cheating

I’m not sure what to do with this. My GF of a year is apparently very close with her best friend’s brother, to the point that it makes me feel uncomfortable. They hang out one on one sometimes, without telling me. They hang out “all night long” and I don’t hear about it until somebody else tells me. When I show up late to a bar hang, etc, I find them sitting together every time. If my GF goes swimming at her friend’s house, he’s there too. If they all go shopping, he’s there too.

The thing is, and what has made looking up solutions to this difficult, is that I am not worried about her cheating. Truly, I am not. It’s just that this relationship triggers something in me, it makes me feel jealous and brings back feelings from a past unfaithful relationship I was in.

I don’t want to have a “no guy friends” policy. I also am realistic about the fact that small crushes are unavoidable even in committed relationships, and that the thing that really matters is trust and faithfulness.

What I don’t know how to handle are my feelings. I feel very put down - and frankly, it’s hard to hang out with her for a few days after each one of these moments (her best friend lives out of state, so she mostly only sees this friend’s brother a few times a year when her friend is in state). I don’t want to retreat from her or treat her weirdly, especially without giving her a reason. But I am also afraid that bringing this up could be something I regret. I am concerned that I’ll come across as paranoid and insecure, or overly controlling, and possibly damage our relationship needlessly.

Any advice would be incredible. I’ve found it very hard to find anything online relating to this unique situation.

Devo in Ethersea is actually 10x worse than all of Graduation

Inspired (manipulated? forced?) by Weedshark’s reeducation, I did a hate-relisten to Graduation last month. It was brutal, obviously, for all the reasons people have mentioned (it was Travis’ cadence more than anything).

But when I was done I decided to jump into Ethersea. I had listened before, got about 15 episodes in. I didn’t remember why I stopped, cause I actually really enjoy the worldbuilding in this campaign. But oh my fucking god - Devo is absolutely insufferable. He is genuinely the worst player character I have ever come across in any podcast, and frankly, in any game of DnD I’ve ever played.

Shall I list the ways?

The way he min-maxed his character’s persuasion score so that he can strong-arm griffin’s story his way

The time he told Zoox to “not make everything about him” after literally doing exactly that every scene of ever episode himself

The insufferable religious trauma backstory that he inserts into every god damn moment (as someone who actually has had serious religious trauma this is especially cringy to me)

I’m writing this on the shitter at work so I need to wrap up and don’t have time to edit this, but god damn Devo is the greediest, stupidest, most emotionally bereft and self absorbed character ever to grace TAZ. Honestly I might go so far as to say he sunk the ship that was Ethersea - although even as a Clint defender I don’t really care for Zoox either, and Amber is just meh

TAZ Circle Jerk comment (spoilers)

I needed to come here and say something to someone.

I got saw all the mods pissing their pants 💀

First off, I died laughing. The fact that they even did that? Hahaha

Secondly, their whole discussion of how hard it would be to pee yourself killed me, but as a man, I don’t think it’d be that difficult to pee your pants if you really wanted to? 😂 The only times I can think of ever having trouble going was urine tests at a doctor’s office. And that might be a mind over body thing.

Am I the only guy who thinks it would be easy to do? Do other mods think it would be difficult?

I’ve never been in a situation where I needed/wanted to just pee my pants so I guess I could be wrong!

Hoping to make someone laugh at this post because I have no one to share this with atm! Have been trying to get my friends and husband to listen to the podcast for a while and no dice yet. Love the McElroy Boys and their humor haha

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

Not to mention he let’s Travis “take another action, cause that one…” cause that one what?? Because he failed his role and now has to have a consequence for his actions?? So you have Pranklin INSTANTLY remove the consequence and then give him a free action???

This is a joke istg

This is all about today’s episode btw
