Ordered a Fake card on Mercari
I ordered a fake card on Mercari Japan via Buyee (proxy service) that was described as "high value," implying that it was authentic. after discovering the card was fake, i reached out to Buyee for help but they are unable to assist me. They state: "Please note that we are not able to accept any cancellation nor refund requests after you have won the auction/purchased an item, no matter if the item is authentic or not."
I am also unable to dispute this with Mercari as you must be in Japan to create an account.
Any way I can get my money back? the only insurance that came with the proxy service is if the card arrives and is significantly different and/damaged.
The only strong points that can possibly help me are the following:
- purchased through paypal and have submitted a dispute on the purchase
- item was described as high value, implying that it is authentic
- no disclosure that it was a fake/replica
- category of listing was a womens fashion hand bag
any help with this would be much appreciated!
