I’m lying here at sixteen minutes past eleven at night
Thinking about what to write
I could write about love
About how I’ve never been enough
But that’s been done before
I could write about pain and loss
About how after time your stone has grown moss
But that the thought still gnaws
Until every memory makes me pause
But that’s been done before
All I have, all I know
It all goes to show
I can’t mould words like clay
Yet here I am, writing words anyway
Maybe I’m just another cliché

The grass is always green
The sky is always blue
I’d spend forever there with you
In the house we’ve never seen
The boys are raised as gentlemen
The girls are raised as queens
We could give them all their dreams
In the house we’ve never lived in
We’ll live our lives with no guilt
With no fear or shame
Where everyone will know our name
In the house we’ve never built
But I know this will not be
Because we’re just teenagers
And won’t be more than strangers
In the house we’ll never see
The grass is always green
The sky is always blue
I’d spend forever there with you
In the house we’ve never seen

First poem I’ve written that wasn’t for school, let me know what you think :)
Now that you’re gone, i feel I can’t breathe
Now that you’re gone, all I can do is grieve
Grieve for the day, I couldn’t bear to see you
Now that I’m older, I’d be first in the queue
I’m all grown up now
I remember the night, my mum woke me up crying
She said that it’s you, you think that you’re dying
All the words out your mouth, they came out jumbled
Dialing the phone, my small fingers stumbled
I’m all grown up now
Your last message to me, “whatever happens, I love you”
I really hope you knew, how much I love you too
I’ve learned to carry grief, though I still don’t know how
I’m still your little boy, even though
I’m all grown up now
Now that you’re gone, i feel I can’t breathe
Now that you’re gone, all I can do is grieve
Grieve for the day, I couldn’t bare to see you
Now that I’m older, I’d be first in the queue
I’m all grown up now
I remember the night, my mum woke me up crying
