I have an sciatica and now my face feels numb.

I'm a 35-year-old male trying to understand a cluster of neurological symptoms that started recently.

About 1–2 weeks ago, I started experiencing what initially felt like tightness/compression around the left hip/glute area after prolonged sitting at work, especially after using an uneven chair. Since then, symptoms progressed into pain/discomfort radiating down the left leg into the foot. The pain is more annoying than severe and is mostly triggered while standing. There's also numbness/altered sensation involving the left leg and entire foot.

When lying down/resting, the left foot and lower leg sometimes feel throbbing, warm, or "pumping," although the limb is not objectively warm to touch. No visible swelling, redness, or color change.

I do NOT have:

- lower back pain

- bowel/bladder dysfunction

- weakness

- gait problems

- foot drop

- fever

- known diabetes

- alcohol/drug use

- major trauma

More recently, I noticed mild sensory symptoms on the LEFT side of my upper body as well:

- mild numbness/altered sensation in the outer forearm

- pinkie and partially ring finger involvement

- later progressing into very mild numbness/altered sensation on the left side of the face including cheek, ear, jaw, parts of forehead, lips, and tongue

Important:

- No facial droop

- No asymmetric smile

- No speech difficulty

- No dizziness

- No balance issues

- No vision changes

- No confusion

- No obvious loss of strength or dexterity

- I can raise both arms normally

- Heel/toe walking is normal

The facial numbness is more noticeable today than yesterday, although I remain fully functional overall.

I also want to clarify:

- I do not have anxiety.

- I do experience intermittent low mood/work burnout from prolonged stress and overwork, but I have plenty to look forward to in life and would not describe myself as clinically depressed.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have insight into possible neurological, spinal, postural, or vascular causes worth discussing with a doctor?

P.S. I used a chatbot to help aggregate and structure my symptoms chronologically so they could be summarized and evaluated together more clearly.

Do Siamese algae eaters eat plants?

I see them nibbling on plants all the time. My stem plants are bald and devoid of leaves. New growth is visible for a few days and then disappears. This is the case with water wisteria (hygrophila diffomis), red nasaea, limnophila sessiliflora and other plants.

chatGPT swears and people claim they only eat rotting plants or algae but the stem plants missing leaves has me wondering if they're the culprits.

Other fishes in the aquarium include: angelfish, cherry barbs, harlequin rasboras, danios, corydoras.

Are electrocuted insects safe to feed to fish? Of course I mean the ones smaller than houseflies Ike mosquitoes.

Middle aged male from Punjab here... This thing I've noticed time and again: most people have absolutely no concept of personal space. Whenever you're in a queue, they will try to cut you off (a separate problem related to a lack of civic sense and fairness). If they cannot do so, they'll line up right behind you. So close that you can feel their breath on your shoulder/face/neck. I'm a man and cannot comment on how women behave in similar circumstances but men are just downright terrible. I dread it whenever I've to be I queues in public.

Sometimes they won't be content with simply standing right behind you, but will push and nudge you from time to time. On more than one occasion I've felt people's phalluses against me, and it's not an exaggeration or meant humourously. Rare but there have been times when they'll simply sneeze or cough on you without even covering their mouth.

It happens everywhere with every social class. In posh malls and in thrift stores, private medical laboratories and govt hospitals alike, and so on. Even when I ask them out loud to keep their distance, they act like I'm the crazy one and that my demand is absurd. They'll register that incredulous expression showing surprise at being asked such a thing clearly indicating that I'm making a big deal out of it. It's especially worse in summer with their sweaty bodies being clearly perceptible at such proximity. It was the same even during COVID when doing so would have put both at risk. They've no regard for hygiene, personal space, health or basic decency.

I wish people would have some basic decency and simple keep their distance - six inches if not a foot or two. It's not like your turn will come any sooner if you resort to making body contact. Is this something I'm overblowing or does this bother you too?
