Just a little cherry blank I've been working on. My brother-in-law is an arborist so sometimes I get the scraps. I do a couple blanks at a time when I prep them and then throw them in the freezer to save for whenever the creative itch tingles.
Rough carving is my favorite stage. It very much is just removing everything that isn't the spoon. The spoon is in there, you just gotta find it
I've been making it a point to fly in the sim or ideally a pack or two each night. I feel like I've made more progress in the last few months than I did the whole first year I had a whoop. I built this tower to have something to fly around at home and it's been a blast. It's nice to get some stick time in on this wonderful day. Happy flying!
What's your favorite woodworking tool?
This is mine, a bowl carvers axe. I love this tool so much I got it tattooed on me. The weight is perfect for chunking out material but not so much that you can't do lighter more accurate cuts. The handle just feels like it was meant to be held if that makes sense.
A good tool feels like an extension of your body.
Hey so I fly by myself and want to get the best possible range, video, penetration through objects etc. What settings can I change to increase these? I sorta know with certain settings you can kinda walk on other pilots signals or whatever but since I fly by myself I'm not really worried about that. I also don't have a super firm grasp on what all the different settings do so please forgive any ignorance on my end. Any help is appreciated. I just feel like I should get better results than I am currently getting. Also I fly analog if that matters.

Such a nice day out that I decided to go down to the fields and just cruise around for a bit after we got home from camping. Didn't really have a purpose, just wanted to have a big open space to fly around and just cruise to some music.

Yes, my daughter was on the slide while I was flying. We had her to stay put while I came in for my last run. They know to be mindful of where they are in relation to the quad.

Did I take the kids to the playground because I try to be a good parent or because I wanted a new spot to fly? Either way everyone had fun lol
The kids got to play on the other side of the park, and Dad got to crash a bunch at a new spot.

Which would you choose and why? I am fixing my whoop and am trying to understand the options I have and the pros and cons of each. I pretty much plan on (if I can) stripping the motors and cam from my og air65 and possibly getting some carbon frame.
I was gonna make a custom wire that powered the cam off the balance lead but that plan has gone up in smoke due to not having the right jst pins. Anyways I've decided to just hard wire it to the FC since I only have one quad anyways.
So how do I go about this? Just find any ground and 5 volt pad and solder it on? What do I do with the yellow wire for pwm signal?
Should I go with the freedom fpv carbon frame or the fractal 65 carbon frame? Anyone have either and would care to share their thoughts?
Well I am once again able to take to the skies! It's finally back together and in working order. I just have to make the cable to power the cam from the balance lead and then I'd say it's pretty much there.

Someone talk me out of swapping my deepspace Seeker 35 frame to a grinderino.
I have the stack from the seeker35, amax 2005 2500kv motors, analog vtx from the seeker too. Anyways I wanted to build a grinderino when I first was looking at getting into a bigger quad from tiny whoop but decided to get the seeker35 as a bnf.
I like it, I've replaced pretty much everything so far because I'm a shit pilot. If you aren't crashing, you aren't flying.
I'm tempted to just swap frames. I think the grinderino build would be significantly lighter with the parts I have now. I might wait until I run out of spare frame parts and then do it.
Just an idea
Gonna make my quad play the intro to its always sunny on start up. Am I going to fuck anything up? I'm gonna leave it on the default volume for the chirps and chimes. I was just curious because I'm not trying to kill any motors
