What would cause a club class upgrade to be rescinded ?
Flew back from Europe to Canada last week. Just prior to check in was told my bid for club class was accepted, credit card charged and seats assigned. Later that day I was told my club class upgrade was reversed and they refunded my credit card. What would cause this to happen ?
Did someone pay full fare for the club class?
($3000 cad one way)
Did someone have a higher bid ? Or perhaps someone was offered instant upgrade at check in ?
I know the bid is not guaranteed as their email stated “Please note that this availability may change at any time until boarding. In case of cancellation, you will be refunded for your upgrade bid.”
I just want to know what was the likely sequence of events so I can try and have a more successful bid in the future.
