Athens to YYZ June 13

Hi! I’m wondering if anyone who was scheduled on AT from Athens to YYZ June 13 (which was cancelled then rescheduled for June 14) had any response from Air Transat yet if you submitted a claim? I submitted mine 3 weeks ago and have still not heard anything.

What a terrible experience TS 765 July 2

Porto to Toronto.....flight was supposed to leave at 1:30pm. It's 6:30pm and we are still here. It's 38C and no AC in the plane. Food vouchers did not work anywhere at the airport. Kids club membership was useless for priority boarding with young kids. Ground crew was very rude. And now the plane' engine just went off. Suffocating in here. Zero announcements as to what's going on.

Terrible all along.

Will I be obliged to check my bag if it meets the carryon criteria?

I'm living with a chronic illness and going on my first overseas trip in 13 years (North America to England) and am trying to monitor my energy very carefully.

I therefore booked an ecobudget flight, which is carryon only, so I wouldn't have to make the extra trip to the baggage carousel. However, my sister who comes to Canada regularly says they travelled Air Transat last month and were obliged to check their carryon baggage instead of keeping it in an overhead bin.

Is there any way this can happen to me if my bag meets the size limits? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks!

technical stop in Montego Bay. should I complain ?

Edit: I already took the flight. It was June 20

Apparently this might be due to re-routing bigger planes for the World Cup. Should I complain about this ?

Beware if you buy a direct flight to Canada from Air Transat. It is quite possible that a few days before departure, they will turn it into a flight with a stopover. It seems a bit scammy to me, since I selected this booking because it seemed like the best option. This is a routine thing that someone warned about in a Peru travel Facebook group. I don't think they should sell "direct flights" if they can't guarantee it. Here is the text of their email (original itinerary was 8:25 to 17:45):

We regret to inform you that due to a last-minute aircraft unavailability, we are forced to modify the type of aircraft operating your flight. This aircraft change requires a mandatory technical stop in Montego Bay (MBJ) to allow for refueling. We understand that such a situation is never pleasant and assure you that we have done everything possible to minimize any negative impact.

Your flight TS151 is now scheduled to depart Lima (LIM) at 10:50 local time on 20JUN2026, and to arrive in Montréal (YUL) at 22:15 local time. We recommend downloading our App or consulting our website to stay informed of any further updates.

If you are at risk of missing your connecting flight booked on the same ticket, please rest assured that our teams will make every effort to rebook you on the next available flight, so you can continue your journey as soon as possible.

Flight from YUL to BCN leaving at 11:45pm landing at 1pm: any experience with the meals on such a late flight?

Hi! I have a flight from YUL to BCN leaving at 11:45pm landing at 1pm, I was wondering if the meals would be adjusted accordingly, i.e. not a supper + breakfast, but maybe just snack after take off and then lunch on arrival? This would make most sense to adjust to the time difference, and what I experienced with other companies, but not sure what Transat does.

Bassinets are not free?!?!

I have an upcoming flight with an infant and would like to book a seat with bassinet. Is it true that I will have to pay extra? Seems wild as all other airlines offer this for free

A321neo Club Class Seats 1A & 1C

My husband and I are looking at booking Club Class seats for our trip from Toronto to Costa Rica (Liberia). After much research and you tube video's it seems the best seats are 1A & 1C. Has anyone flown in these seats? Are you looking down at the IFE? Is there ample legroom in this row? ( I heard it was more roomier than the other 2 rows).

Air Transat issues

my wife booked a return flight London to Montreal with Air Transat outbound on 23 June and return 27 June. she arrived in Montreal on Tuesday but has just been emailed by Air Transat to say her return flight is cancelled for “operational reasons” and she has been offered a flight on Monday 29 June which won’t arrive until 30 June but she has to be back at work Monday morning in UK. she can either take the new flight or be given a partial refund of £400 for the return leg. to book a new flight from Montreal to London on 27 June she will have to pay £750 for British Airways and Air Transat won’t cover the difference. is there anything she can do apart from suck it up?

I am very willing to pay for a modification on Eco Budget flight

If Air Transat are allowing modifications on flights booked between June 5th and Sept 1st 2026 for Eco Budget flights, then why can't I do it on a flight booked in March 2026? I am willing to pay to change the name. My son and his GF broke up so she doesn't want to come anymore. My husband would love to come and would really love to take her spot. I have flown with Air Transat every year for the last 25 years and would really appreciate a goodwill gesture.

Air Transat keeping $1,600 for a flight I physically cannot take, need advice on refund options.

Hey everyone, looking for advice on a situation with Air Transat. I'll be upfront, the mistake was entirely mine, but I'm hoping someone has been in a similar spot or knows options I haven't tried.

In May I booked two one-way Eco Budget flights from Montreal to Lisbon for me and my partner as part of our permanent relocation from Quebec to Portugal. I made a clerical error and booked July 30th instead of June 30th (our actual moving date). I only noticed 3 days later when reviewing the confirmation, which meant I had already missed the 24 hour cancellation window for a full refund.

Completely on me. I know. Eco Budget is the cheapest non-refundable fare and I accepted those terms when I bought it. I'm not trying to pretend otherwise.

Since we still needed to leave on June 30th my partner had to buy replacement tickets for the correct date. So we've now paid twice for the same one-way journey for the same two passengers on the same route. Air Transat is holding $1,600 for a July 30th flight that is physically impossible for us to board as we'll already be living in Portugal by then.

If I cancel now they'll only refund me $182 in taxes.

I called Air Transat twice. Both times agents told me the Eco Budget fare is 100% non-modifiable and non-refundable and refused to let me speak to a supervisor. I then sent two formal emails escalating the situation. They responded in writing both times essentially saying "fare conditions apply, decision is final."

I'm a Quebec resident so I've been reading up on consumer protection options available here. I paid with Amex so I'm also wondering if there's anything on that front, though I'm not sure how realistic that is for something like this.

Honestly at this point I'm grasping at straws and would appreciate any advice anyone can offer. Has anyone successfully recovered money from Air Transat or any airline in a similar situation? Any experience with credit card chargebacks against airlines in Canada, and do they actually work? Is there anything at all I can do to recover this $1,600 or is there no possible options for me?

This is a decent amount of money for us to lose over a one digit date mistake on a flight we cannot use, and I genuinely don't know where else to turn. Again, I realize it was my mistake and I take accountability, but if you guys have any advice, experience, or even just pointing me in the right direction, it would really mean a lot. Thanks in advance.

MRS-YUL 6/20 Flight delayed 10 hours, no food/water, no reimbursement

this past Saturday, I flew Air Transat from Marseille to what was supposed to be Montréal. In Marseille, customs for non EU citizens was extremely delayed, taking 2-5 hours to pass. our flight was scheduled to depart at 12:00 local time, but half the passengers hadn’t boarded. The pilot continued to update us on board, telling us “We are trying to make the best decision, we are communicating with Montréal. We are deciding how long we should wait for people.”

They ended up waiting for all the passengers, which delayed us two hours. Still, not the worst situation in the world. However, the two hour ELECTIVE delay caused us to arrive during a storm, and we were diverted to Ottawa. We were kept on the tarmac for 3 more hours, with no food or water. Eventually, they said buses would be available to drive us to Montréal after we passed customs.

For 250 passengers, there were only 2 buses ready. I personally had to wait an additional 3.5 hours for a bus to come to take me to Montréal, which would add another 2 hours to the transit. Again, during this period, Air Transat offered no food or water, denied reimbursement for hotels, rental cars, and food purchases. They had over 4 hours to get enough buses for people and couldn’t do it. My flight was supposed to arrive in Montréal at 14:15, and I didn’t arrive until 01:15 the next day. So the arrival was delayed 9 hours.

AirTransat said I’m not eligible for any reimbursement and that i am not eligible to file a claim for this flight. I understand the weather situation, but treating us like animals for 7.5 hours when EVERY OTHER AIRLINE was able to accommodate their diverted passengers can’t be okay.

What should I do to get reimbursed? They chose to leave late, which caused us to run into weather, then they didn’t have a plan to get us to the destination, and they didn’t provide us with anything they legally have to. Anyone else that Flew with them have any ideas?

Rebooked for tomorrow. Should I be eligible for a flight on a different carrier?

My AirTransat flight got rebooked for the next day at the same time. I was only informed the day before. Since the departure is >9hr later than the original booking, shouldn't I be eligible for a flight on a different carrier? The customer service representative I spoke to didn't think so, but their own website seems to say differently (https://www.airtransat.com/en-CA/travel-information/customer-service/disruptions-recourses/flight-disruption-delay-and-cancellation). I'm travelling with two kids under 4 and I'd really like to keep my original itinerary!

Duffle Bag as a carry on?

I bought a duffle bag for my international trip thinking it would be easier to get around with. Its dimensions are 21.65 x 11.02 x 10.62in. It’s technically smaller than their requirements for carry ons by volume, but I’m worried the dimensions would be a problem. Its soft so it can be molded a bit if necessary.

Also wondering what personal items are allowed. It a standard size backpack ok? and could I also be carrying a small purse at the same time or no?
