Sammy The Seal Audiobook on Vinyl

Hey folks, I like to find and purchase old vinyl records that have absolutely no recording of their media anywhere online. Today, I ripped and uploaded a video of the first ever (as far as I'm aware) vinyl audiobook of Sammy The Seal, a pretty classic mid-century children's book. Never been on this sub before, so if this isn't the place for this, feel free to remove my post! I'll link the video to this post in case anyone is interested in hearing it themselves, you're likely to be the first people to hear it in decades. Sammy The Seal Audiobook on Vinyl

Findlay High School Concert Band 1976

Howdy Folks, I'm back with another local record rip. This time, it's a recording of the Findlay High School Concert Band in 1976, performing various pieces, including some with spoken word aspects. I hope this brings back fond memories for some of you, and if you have any info on this performance or those who played in it, I'd love to hear about it!

[Archival] (Part 2) I ripped a 1960s Walter Martin (The Bible Answer Man) spoken-word LP on cults. From what I've seen, zero copies of the audio existed online until now

Howdy folks,

A lot of you showed some interest in my previous post about my Christians and Cults LP that, prior to my rip and upload, did not have any kind of existence online that I was able to find. Archives may have it somewhere that's not accessible to the public, I'm unsure of that, but it's now available to anyone interested. As I stated in my first post, I would be uploading the second disc as soon as I had the time to finish editing it. I finally got to that today, so I'm uploading it now. You'll be able to find a link to it right beneath this paragraph, and a link to the original post below that. I hope you enjoy.

Lost Media of Chevy Nomad Designer Interview

Howdy Folks,

I like to recover and digitize lost media on records. I was sorting through my collection fairly recently and came across a record titled "Wheels" from the Revell model car comapny, likely early to mid 60s. I thought it would be something pretty simple and childlike given the intended audience at the time, but it was actually a short interview with Clare MacKichan, the lead designer of the Chevy Nomad, not recorded anywhere but for this record.

I haven't been able to find this audio uploaded anywhere online, so I decided to rip it myself, and I figured that of all communities, this one would appreciate it and understand it best. I hope you enjoy, and I hope this brings back some fond memories for someone!

Lost Findlay Media Hunt

Hello folks,

Like probably most people here, I'm a Findlay local, and I'm very interested in preserving the history of our town, however small. A few of you may have seen my post covering a Findlay-specific RCA record the other day, that's one of 3 records I currently have that are either from Findlay directly, or Findlay related. My main goal is to save old media that has no recording online anywhere, and Findlay specifically is a subset of that goal.

I've come here to ask for your help finding any other forms of media created by locals or about Findlay in general, the three I've found have come together over a span of a few years. If you know of any music groups who recorded here, that'd be helpful. If you know of any churches or politicians who made a record here, that'd be helpful too. I'm also open to VHS tapes and cassette tapes, from roughly the early 1900s through the 90s, as I have the tools to digitize and preserve all of them. If it's a Marathon Petroleum corporate training record, or your grandfather's church group who pressed an album to sell to their congregation, I'm interested. And if you have something but aren't comfortable parting with it, that's completely fine, I'm happy to just document what it is, or come digitize it and hand it right back to you.

Any information would be very helpful, anything from names to the media itself can be useful in my mission to digitize the lives of people here.

Next up I'll have a record from Tennyson Guyer, a Findlay local who served in Ohio's House of Representatives for many years, and a recording of either the 76th performance of Findlay High School's concert band, or a Bicentennial recording, hard to say for sure based on the album name alone.

Thank you for helping me digitize the lives of people here!

I am working on ripping any vinyls I find that have no online rips anywhere, topic doesn't matter. This one happens to cover how Christians were to "fight back against cultism" had it been brought to their front door. Basically, Martin is speaking against Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and other "Non-Christian" Christian sects/denominations. This guy was apparently a known counter cult figure at the time who had written many books on the topic as well, this was just one of the rare opportunities where he was recorded discussing it on vinyl rather than on paper.

If you're interested, you can listen to the Cult Apologetics vinyl here.

[Archival] Nu-Sound Poem Record

I have a very large record collection, and I DO NOT discriminate on what gets added to it. I regularly obtain records with absolutely no information on them anywhere online and intentionally seek them out when I can so I'm able to digitize them so they aren't lost when the record itself stops existing. Here I have what's known as a "Song Poem Record" which was a mail-in business from the 50s to the last 70s, at least. Anyone, anyone at all, could write up some lyrics or a poem, and mail it in to this company to have it arranged, set to music and performed by an in-house vocalist. After that, they'd mail a copy (or a few) back to you. This is one of those records, which previously existed nowhere except for my collection and possibly the minds of those who wrote the songs decades ago.

I'll leave a link to it here, so folks can give it a listen if they wish.

RCA Plant Memento, Findlay, Ohio

Here's a cool one I pulled from a flea market for 50 cents a few years ago.

This was a very limited run record created by RCA to commemorate the opening of their new plant in Findlay, Ohio. When the plant opened in 1954, only 10 people worked there, but it eventually grew into the biggest transistor producer in the world by the 1970s. The song that's on it is local to Findlay and fairly well known as an American folk classic, performed by an in-house band known as the "Golden Memory Boys"

I couldn't find it uploaded anywhere online, so I did a rip of it myself and put it up. If you wish to hear it, you can do so below.

You've Got Me Down/Nosey, Nosey People (Song Poem Record)

I do vinyl rips for YouTube when I encounter something in my collection with no online presence, this one is probably my favorite so far. It's a "song poem record" from the 70s where someone would submit a poem or lyrics they wrote and a studio would arrange it, set it to music and have an in-house singer perform it, just to mail it back to you.

I think this is one of my favorites because it shows a genuine attempt at making music from two writers with absolutely no experience in it whatsoever, that's most obvious in the second song. You can listen to them below if you're interested.
