Do we tape over????

Bebe (my little girl!) learnt that this opening is in fact an opening recently, she's very clingy and loves to have fun with me outside her terrarium. It's been about.. 2 days since I shown her that she can approach this opening and climb on my hand but now she's doing this and I'm so scared her hand will get hurt by this 😭 I saw her hanging on it for like, a full second probably and it seems dangerous. Apart from adding more bedding so she maybe will stop hanging (which I was planning on doing cus I got too little bedding when I was switching it out), is there anything I can do?? It's a new terrarium too 😭

Dwarf hamster not fully dwarf..????

I need to take my girl to the vet soon (for a check up! She's all fine and dandy as far as I can observe) so it's more of a "hey guys what do we think" question than a genuine worry, but uh, my hammy seems to not be a dwarf?

I've seen so many charts of what different hamster breeds look like and Bebe, my maybe-not-an-actual-dwarf hamster seems to appear more like a Russian than anything else.

Best pictures of her face attached; also, congrats Bebe! She's in the process of loosing weight since I sadly did mak3 a mistake with how much food she should be getting :( she lost about 8 grams in the past week and a half so I'm very proud of my girl!!! This mistake will never be made again 😭

Does the dirt/substrate matter?

Hi chat!! I'm planning on getting a female orchid mantis and I purchased this little box for her (I'm going to attach the net for her to hang from soon so dw!) and I'm just wondering if the dirt she has in right now (if anyone can tell what it is lmao) would be okay. Does the substrate matter when it comes to mantis care? Or maybe is there a type that I should get for her well-being? If anyone has problems identyfing what kind of 'dirt' it is, I have no problem purchasing more dirt and essentially just throwing out this and putting in new one. I want to make 100% sure that she's going to be comfy in her temporary home, that's why it's so small :)
