I live in DFW, Texas and I just can't do this heat much longer. It physically hurts. We will be empty nesters in the next 5 years. I want 4 seasons - specifically an autumn where leaves change and crisp mornings and sweaters and soup and all of the things we all love. I don't want to sweat in mid-October.
Where would you go? What's your dream place? I dont care of its unrealistic financially. I want to hear your wildest fantasy life.
My mother is way way up in years. She grew up hearing from her great-grandmother about growing up in Castlebar. We know it was more specifically Gortbaun. Mom always wanted to go see where her Nan was from, but it just never worked out.
From Google maps it looks like a very small rural townland. They were farmers.
Is there anything else interesting I could share with my mom?

I booked the Crescent Hotel for a night next week bc shes into the paranormal.

Almost a year and (Butt) Nugget is the best addition. We are just so lucky.
I found him under my car in August 2025 in 100+ degree heat. He was a week ish old. I cant believe he made it tbh. He was worth almost losing my job making sure he got fed on time. It was really like having a baby again.
I think he might need a playmate though. Hes awfully bitey. He bit my husband this morning while snuggling.
Goodness, how much more do I need to say?! Lol Our snowshoe tolerates him super well. My daughter adores him. I dunno. Hes cool.
