How to: Crown a Witch (for new players and people that just don't know how)

Very quick and simple guide that I made for new players.

I noticed some people have said that they've NEVER crowned a witch before and I was shocked; I was under the impression that witch-crowning was something everyone knew. Clearly not.

So I made this "tutorial". It goes through everything you might realistically do against the witch if she's around.

Or you can do this.

Shoving makes bolt actions shoot faster, like shotguns.

Just in case you didn't know. If you did, you're cool

I knew I wasn't delusional when I said Ellis had gun experience before the apocalypse

Just some survivor voice line testing. I knew I heard him say this line before, but I could not find this exact quote in Miraheze. I even thought I was tripping.

I did this for a while and Ellis has only ever said "I got a gun just like that" for the Mini-14, multiple times. I found the voiceline in the files: steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice\mechanic\spotweapon05

Survivor tier list in terms of strength, but actually lore accurate [+height chart]

I saw a tierlist I disagreed with, so naturally I decided to make my own. Typical redditor behavior. Anyway, here's my tier list. I'm ranking these characters relative to each other's physical capabilities at the beginning of the apocalypse; the weakest character here is still stronger than an average person. The L4D survivors are pretty superhuman if you ask me. I've always considered them—carriers—as their own Special Infected.

S1. Francis:
- The tallest, no stranger to violence, and is (was) a part of a violent gang. He is known to be the muscle of the group, and for good reason: he's shown to kill zombies with his bare fists, and he tackled a boomer, and prevented it from puking on them. He's the strongest, no questions asked.

S2. Coach:
- Combat sports are divided into weight classes for a reason. Coach himself, although out of shape is a large man, and we see him punch zombies in the face. He's the 3rd tallest in the roster and could easily be the heaviest, but he's not a sumo wrestler some people make him out to be. He's definitely strong though, and if any other survivor were to fight him, they won't have a good time.

A1. Bill:
- At first I was averse to putting Bill higher than Nick simply due to his age, but re-reading the sacrifice comic made me confident in his ranking: He's a soldier, an old soldier, but a soldier nonetheless. Bill kicked away an infected while under the effects of anesthetics. He then went on to grab a bone saw (horrible weapon btw) and killed it. Also here's Bill killing an infected with a damaged chair in one swing. While he's not on the level of physical prowess as Francis, he can and will throw punches if necessary. Lt. Mora experienced that first hand.

A2. Louis:
- Nobody expects Louis to be strong because of his bubbly personality, but I hesitated putting him under Nick, even though Nick's a lot "tougher" in terms of personality. But he successfuly saved Francis from a smoker with little effort, even joking around. The same smokers that can drag a full grown human at force and rip a person to shreds casually. He also killed a fresh zombie with nothing but a toilet paper dispenser. Its brains are on the floor.

A3. Nick:
- Nick is a L4D2 survivor, so he doesn't have the privilege of comics to show his strength, but his lines and outfit in the game tell us his history. When picking up a basball bat he will have a conversation with Coach mentioning that he attacked a bouncer with a baseball bat, which is why he's not allowed to legally own a gun. Or he was a bouncer himself. He also has the same symbol as one of Francis' tattoo, but on his ring. They could be in the same gang.

B1. Zoey:
- Although Zoey has no stand-out physical combat moments in the comic, she does disarm a soldier in such a way that sends him flying. It was also mentioned by her father that she's good with guns in the firing range, and that she "knows how to hold herself in a fight" as well.

B2. Ellis:
- Ellis doesn't have any stand out physical capabilities but he did mention going through karate classes and that he apparently owns ninja stars and can (probably) use nunchucks. Although physically capable as a mechanic, a job title alone won't win you a fight.

C1. Rochelle:
- I hate to put her dead last cause I love my girl Ro'—I love popcorn too—but she just doesn't have anything on her lore that tells me she knows how to fight hand-to-hand. She was a news reporter prior to the apocalypse and has never even fired a gun, going as far as mocking gun owners. She is also the shortest of the entire crew. Though, Chet Faliszek's initial vision for Ro' was quite different. He originally envisoned her as someone who would be very powerful, mentioning that she reminded him of a woman from the DMV in Cleveland. Rochelle's strength is her mental fortitude; she keeps the group together. She's not positive to a fault like Louis nor as happy-go-lucky as Ellis, but she keeps the others sane. Another thing, a silver lining here is that she is seen killing zombies with a fireaxe and she holds onto Nick's entire body weight with one arm. She definitely gained some combat prowess within the apocalypse and by that time I'd even say she's above Ellis, but below Zoey due to a lack of formal martial arts training.

Well, that's it. The only switch I could probably make here is Nick and Louis switching places. That said, Nick doesn't exactly come off as a combat-focused guy. He's a con man first, but did attack a bouncer with a baseball bat, which is why he said he's not legally allowed to own a gun (felony charge). Or he was a bouncer himself.

These rankings would look very different if we factor in firearms, but all of the L4D1 survivors would still outclass L4D2 survivors:

  • Bill is a Vietnam vet with decades of experience under his belt. No amount of gun range training, nor gang affiliation, will trump his experience
  • Francis was in an active and violent biker gang. He went on a rampage with his buddies before he met the other survivors.
  • Louis went to the shooting range pre-apocalypse. He taught Bill how to make pipe bombs.
  • Zoey's father took her to the shooting range and is close with Bill. She's definitely picked up a thing or two from the old man.

In contrast:

Y'know, despite it's age, I still love how the guns sound in this game.

Yes even the CSS ones

I can't find a way to make a new collection. Is it just me?

I swear there used to be a "create new collection" button there but I can't find it.
