Been trying the ROG XREAL R1 on one of our sim rigs and I’m genuinely curious what the sim racing crowd thinks.
They’re way less bulky than VR and the virtual screen feels massive, but I’m not sure whether I’d choose them over a proper triple setup for long sessions.
Anyone here tried gaming glasses like these before?
Would you actually race with them, or are triples/VR still the way to go?
Not a bad pair of people to have testing the rigs 😂
Super GT and Jimmy Broadbent both jumped on our Thermaltake setups and gave them a proper go.
Safe to say they were slightly better at it than most of us in the office...
Saw this in one of the builds today and the little screen on the GPU caught me off guard 😂
I thought it was a bit gimmicky at first, but I can’t lie, it actually looks pretty cool in person.
Still not sure what I’d put on it though. Temps? A GIF? Something stupid?
We’ve been slowly building out these two rigs and they’re finally starting to look the part.
Both are running triple-screen setups and they’ve already caused way too many “one more lap” situations in the office 😂
Still a few bits we want to tweak, so interested to hear what you’d change or add next.
Not the “technically 8% faster” kind.
I mean the upgrade where you immediately thought:
“Yep, should’ve done this ages ago.”
GPU? SSD? More RAM? Better monitor?

We’ve all done something questionable at some point.
Forgot to turn the PSU on?
Left the plastic on the CPU cooler?
Spent an hour troubleshooting just to realise the monitor was plugged into the motherboard?

Bonus points if the PC somehow survived.
What PC upgrade actually made you sit there and think, “yeah, that was 100% worth it”?
Could be a new GPU, more RAM, switching to an SSD, a better monitor, or even something small like quieter fans.
Mine would probably be moving from a hard drive to an SSD. It made the whole PC feel brand new.
What was yours?
What game are you building or upgrading your PC for?
Different games need very different hardware.
Are you upgrading for competitive FPS games, heavily modded Minecraft, simulation games, streaming, 4K single-player games—or something else entirely?
