Because UTAU/OpenUtau/Utalet are free non-professional programs, it’s unlikely your average casual user would have a Full Premium Deluxe All Plugins + The Kitchen Sink Edition of a DAW compared to the payed vocal synth user. But then again, a lot of vocal synth artists are also amateur hobbyists and would at least have Reaper on trial mode.

Mostly thinking about this because I hear a lot of people use Bandlab, Garage Band, or raw dog with Audacity.

Preferably a VCV monopitch voicebank voiced by a native Japanese speaker and otoing that is as accurate as possible.
I've been using Teto's OpenUtau voicebank as my default voicebank for making USTs, but the way she was recorded has a lot of 'empty space' between notes compared to other voicebanks and that later messes with how the UST sounds on other voices.

I usually go back and forth between Gekiyaku’s voicebanks or the sheer versatility of Matsudappoiyo EDGE, but there’s a bunch of other UTAUs stuck in limbo because I don’t know how to make use of them or they’re not dynamic enough outside of specific genres (guy mentioned in my flair. 💔)

I also want to know if there’s other people who‘s favorite UTAU characters are different from the ones they typically use.

Usually you’ll hear about how a Vocaloid producer left the scene to move onto the industry, have their own band, or become an entirely different artist with an entirely different style.

But what are some artists that have both at the same time? For example, Utsu-P has The Ohayogozaimas, YM has mononokenonomo (Nashimoto UI is also the bassist), and Nashimoto UI has Araiya Kashiko.

It doesn’t have to be a band, just not a case of them having a non-Vocaloid music career and briefly coming back for nostalgia bait. Also doesn’t have to just be Vocaloid of course, any Vocal Syth artist (although only Vocaloid and UTAU seem old and notable enough)

In a Funger 1 run, I somehow stashed 13 opium but no food. In a Termina run, I got 4 Salmonsnake runes from just crate drops.

I keep seeing people talk about how Joel has a recognizable accent or that it's changed over the years but for me it just sounds like his voice getting deeper and less "congested"-sounding? Or am I misunderstanding what an accent is defined as? I first assumed he was a 40 year-old American but that turned out to be Vinny.

Can’t really say much about Funger 1 because I love Cahara and like playing as him (because I’m too scared of this game and don’t play it as much as Termina).

However, Levi is my favorite character in Termina, but he is probably one of the worst characters to play as, and pretty much a blank slate with a gun if you don’t let him get a heroin addiction (I am aware of skipping his backstory for the Pistol + Gunslinger and no withdrawal).

Playing as Abella is so fun with weapon craft, and even if you don’t get her as a party member, the little challenge to that is still a neat balance for me. And the joy of tagging along Levi after hunting down Needles like a madman (he rarely spawns when I actually want him to). But even Miro admits that Abella’s writing is lackluster compared to the other characters and wants to expand her potential more.

Even though I like Marcoh, I find him *too* easy to play as. Because you can immediately recruit Abella and Levi if you choose to take luxury products in the character history. That, and just lockpicking your way through most doors and the sewers gates. Being able to punch ghost children is funny though.

Asking here because I’m afraid audio-specialized subreddits would give recommendations with expensive prices that aren’t worth it for a hobby activity.

Currently have $106~ worth of Amazon giftcard savings and can probably go up to $20 above. USB microphone of course.

One time, I was doing a Marina Maso Mode run and in the church basement. I had the Black Steel equipped and got into combat with a Crimson Father. She got mind controlled, but not big deal because mind controlled party members deal less damage right?

107 DMG crit, instantly killing herself. It kind of reminded me of that one butterfly knife scene in Soul Eater NOT if you know what I’m talking about.

But I was laughing my ass off because this far into Maso Mode runs, I was happy to learn what NOT to do.

Special mention to that one player who got stunned as Daan by Needles but Daan kept dodging the final hit to kill him for like a solid minute.

I have trouble trying to make hair for VRoid models, because they always come off as stiff or unnatural looking. All of the tutorials I found have good advice for creative uses or how each parameter works, but when it comes to drawing on or layering the hair, it's some variation of "do what looks right and go with the vibe". I know that I can change and stretch hair textures. I know how the thickness and hair guides work, I know hair looks better with varying strand sizes and placement, just not know how to utilize them. Feels like I need to know the fundamentals of being a hair stylist when trying to sculpt VRoid hair.
