Pyramiden, the soviet ghost town near the North Pole

Here are some pics I took of Pyramiden when I stayed there for a few days in July 2022.
Pyramiden is a Soviet ghost town located on Svalbard (a Norwegian territory). It was a coal mining settlement which closed in 1998. Today, the town is still inhabited by a few caretakers who maintain the main buildings and the hotel.

Ghost town of Chagan, eastern Kazakhstan

Chagan is a ghost town located in eastern Kazakhstan, in the infamous Polygon of Semipalatinsk, the main nuclear weapons testing site of USSR. It was a military town, built to house the personnel working on the nearby air base from which the soviet nuclear bombers were operated. After the fall of USSR, the air base was closed, and the town abandoned.
