Long-term hinge durability in rural areas

Thinking of getting the Fold 8 as my first foldable, coming from an iPhone. I work in a clean environment and can resist taking it out to the beach or on hikes. However, the area where I live can be dusty—think Arizona or New Mexico—and I often sit and work in the backyard. I don’t want to spend $1,900 on a phone that won’t last at least two or three years, which is my expected upgrade cycle. Does anyone have relevant experience with the Fold 7?

My other options are the Pixel Fold 11, although I really prefer the passport form factor. My other option is waiting for the iPhone Ultra (iFold?). I suspect the iPhone will be way too expensive, and I want to switch to Android anyway for a better AI assistant. I can also get a decent deal at the moment.

Any recommendations?

Leaving Dia because they force enlarged ugly bezels on my expensive laptop

Computer makers, including Apple, are removing bezels from laptops, and many people are happy to pay a higher price for bezel-less screens. Then the Browser Company, along with its design team, put the bezels back.

There is absolutely no reason to keep the window border in full-screen mode. If the goal is to separate spaces, this could be done with a colour tint or an indicator in the address bar, which TBC does not let us to hide anyway.

Dia browser may be free, but TBC is charging me precious screen real estate, for which I paid quite a lot. Not to mention that when watching dark websites in full screen, we are stuck with a distracting light border around the window.

For a company that once prided itself on design and functionality, this is a weird choice. Am I the only one who is really bothered by this? Is it because I do not use an external monitor often and like to use apps in full-screen mode to reduce distractions?
