AITAH for changing the locks after my sister kept letting herself into my apartment?

I’m 29M and my sister is 26F. We live about ten minutes away from each other. We get along pretty well overall and this honestly wasn’t an issue until the last couple months.

Last year I gave her a spare key to my apartment because I travel occasionally for work and she agreed to check on my cat when I’m gone. She’s probably used it for that 4 or 5 times and I’ve always appreciated it.

A few months ago I came home from work and she was sitting on my couch watching TV. Apparently she had been nearby, needed to use the bathroom, and figured I wouldn’t care.

I thought it was a little weird but didn’t make a big deal about it. I just told her to text me first next time.

Then it happened again.

The second time she had stopped by to grab a jacket she left at my place. Again, I told her I don’t care if she comes over, I just want her to ask before using the key when I’m home or in town.

She acted like I was being overly formal because we’re siblings, but said okay.

About three weeks ago I noticed some leftovers missing from my fridge. I assumed I ate them and forgot about it until my sister casually mentioned that she had stopped by on her lunch break because my apartment was closer to her work than hers.

That actually annoyed me because at that point she wasn’t even coming over for a reason involving me. She was basically using my apartment as a second apartment.

I told her pretty directly that the key was for emergencies and taking care of my cat, not so she could let herself in whenever she wanted.

She apologized and I thought that was the end of it.

Last Friday I got off work early and came home around 1:30. My sister was in my apartment with one of her friends. They had gotten takeout and were sitting at my kitchen counter eating.

I asked what they were doing there and she said they had been shopping nearby and wanted somewhere to eat before going to another store.

I got pretty pissed off and told her I had asked her multiple times not to do this.

She said she didn’t understand why it mattered because she wasn’t stealing anything or making a mess, and that I’m never bothered when she comes over while I’m actually there.

I told her that’s because I know she’s coming over when I’m there.

She and her friend left. I texted her later asking for my spare key back. She said she would give it back the next time she saw me.

The more I thought about it, though, the more uncomfortable I got because she’s had that key for over a year and I have no idea if she ever made a copy. So yesterday I paid $140 to have the lock changed.

She found out because she came over today to return the old key and tried it before knocking.

Now she’s extremely offended that I actually changed the lock. She says asking for the key back should have been enough and that changing the lock makes it seem like I think she’s a thief or some kind of dangerous person.

Our mom also thinks I went too far. Her argument is that my sister was being inconsiderate, but she never damaged anything or took anything besides food, and I could have just taken the key back and moved on.

I don’t think my sister is dangerous and I don’t think she was going to rob me. I changed it because I had asked her three separate times to stop letting herself into my home and she kept doing it anyway.

The only part making me question it is that she really did help me out a lot with my cat, and now I’ll have to find someone else whenever I travel. I also probably could have waited to see whether returning the key solved the problem before spending money on a new lock.

AITAH for changing it anyway?

What skills have you learned or improved because you got into 3D printing?

I started with basic printing, but it’s pushed me into Blender, editing SVGs, product design, troubleshooting hardware, and thinking about how objects are actually manufactured. What other skills has the hobby led you into?

How to unlobotomize my chatgpt?

I don’t know if this is just me, but ChatGPT has been extremely frustrating lately. I’ll ask a very simple, straightforward question, and instead of answering that question, it starts answering some imaginary follow up question it thinks I’m going to ask next.

For example, I asked whether I could use OrcaSlicer to slice a .3mf file, export it, then send it through another program to get it to my machine. I was asking because I don’t fully understand how slicers work. Instead of just answering whether that workflow is possible, it started explaining that the programs I’m using are slicers and not meant to send files directly to the machine. That wasn’t what I asked. I already understood that part.

It feels like the model gets stuck trying to be “helpful” by predicting the next question, but ends up ignoring the actual question in front of it.

Is there any way to make ChatGPT stay strictly on topic and only answer exactly what was asked? I tell this shit not to infer almost every single message, I have to tell it to stick with what it knows and not to guess or assume, but here we are

Are Shrooms Getting Weedified?

Does anyone else feel like shrooms are starting to go down the same path weed did?

I don’t mean chemically changing overnight or anything, but the culture around them feels way different now. It used to feel more like, “These are mushrooms, respect them.” Now it feels like everyone is chasing the strongest thing possible: APE, Enigma, crazy chocolates, gummies, “hero dose” talk, fake strain hype, all that.

It reminds me a lot of weed after legalization/branding took over. Everything became about THC percentage, strongest carts, strongest edibles, highest potency, flashiest packaging. Now shrooms seem like they’re getting the same treatment, except with psychedelics that seems way riskier.

A stronger weed product might just make someone too high or anxious. Stronger shrooms can completely change the trip and make it psychologically overwhelming. More intense doesn’t automatically mean better.

The other sketchy part is how many “shroom” products probably aren’t even real mushrooms. A lot of bars/gummies feel more like branded mystery products than actual dried fruits. At least with real mushrooms, you have some idea what you’re dealing with. With random edibles, who knows if it’s psilocybin, 4-AcO, Amanita stuff, or some other random compound.

I just feel like the scene is shifting from intentional use to potency chasing and marketing hype. Same thing that happened with weed, but with something that deserves way more caution.

What's your favorite looking filament?

Since getting into 3d printing a few months ago I've spent hundreds of dollars on pretty looking PLA already, and I'd like to know what your guys personal favorite is! My personal favorite is this Comgrow tri color silk RGB, I think the color spectrum is very nice and pops really well

I've tried some sunlu quad color silk but I'm not really too pleased with the results, I think it's just duller than I expected

I made an addon that tracks farming sessions and helps compare which farms are actually worth your time

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a WoW farming addon called What Farm? and I’m finally putting it out as a beta.

The basic idea is to make it easier to track farming sessions and compare what is actually worth your time. You start a session, farm like normal, and the addon tracks things like loot, raw gold, total value, time spent, gold per hour, and coordinates, and even your average GPH for that farm as a whole if it's in your farm library.

Some of the main features right now:

  • Farming session tracking
  • Loot value and raw gold tracking
  • Gold per hour calculations
  • Saved run history
  • Farm profiles
  • GPH and LIV modes, depending on whether the farm is steady gold or more RNG based
  • Bag worth tools
  • Random farm picker
  • Basic comparison tools for different farms/runs

It is still in beta, so I’m not trying to pretend it’s perfect yet. There are probably bugs, some UI stuff still needs polish, and I’m sure there are things actual goldmakers would want changed or added.

I mainly wanted to post it here because this is the kind of community that would actually know whether something like this is useful or not.

What I’m looking for feedback on:

  • Is the addon useful for how you personally farm gold?
  • Are GPH/LIV good ways to split steady farms vs RNG farms?
  • What information would you want shown during or after a farming session?
  • Is there anything missing that would make it more useful for serious goldmaking?
  • Any obvious UI or workflow issues?

CurseForge link: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/what-farm

Appreciate any feedback. Even if you don’t use it, I’d still like to hear what you think a farming tracker should actually include.

Is the quality of responses declining?

It seems like every question I ask it now, it gives me really really fucking garbage info, and when I push back and say that info is no good, it'll be like "you're right, that was bad on my part" EVERY single time, I have no gotten any useful information out of ChatGPT for the last week, I honestly stopped even reading the replies it gives because instead of actually correcting its self it just rambles about how it'll correct its self next time, and never does

How many filament swaps is your limit

I’m thinking about sending a 12 hour print with 288 filament swaps. When I add PETG support interface, it jumps to 16 hours and 455 swaps. Since I’m using an X2D, it’s mostly nozzle/tool changes rather than full AMS filament swaps, so I’m not too worried about the additional AMS wear.

Do you think the PETG support interface is worth the extra 4 hours and added swaps? Also, realistically, how much wear can an AMS handle over time?

I don’t really mind the waste because the filament effect is the whole point of the print. I wouldn’t be able to paint it and get the same look that the filament gives.

What's your guys hard limit on how many filament swaps a print has?
