Any way for me to learn concepts on my own?

Hi, I’m a senior in high school who just started working at a Kumon near me. A lot of the time when the kids need help on math, I don’t know how to answer because I either don’t remember or don’t know the “Kumon way” (my employer said the way I do stuff is wrong). Is there any way I can practice things myself? I love math and would love to do it for fun and to be able to help the kids more. I’m sorry if this is a little open ended but I don’t really know how to go about this so any help is appreciated. Thanks!
