After watching Million Dollar Nanny and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, I can’t lie… The House of Stassi feels SO boring😭

Million Dollar Nanny is way more interesting and actually makes me want to keep watching. Meanwhile, House of Stassi has me struggling to care.

I (30F) let go of two friendships, and it’s the best decision I’ve made so far. No regrets.

I had two friends that I truly loved and cared about. I was always checking in on them, texting them to see how they were doing, and making plans for us to spend time together. These two friends don’t know each other, but I noticed I was putting the same amount of effort into both friendships.

Eventually, I realized I was giving my all — my time, energy, and attention — but I wasn’t receiving the same in return. It started to bother me, so I decided to match their energy. I stopped being the one who always reached out, took longer to reply to messages, and stopped making plans to see if they would make any effort from their side.

After some time, I came to the realization that both friendships had become one-sided. At this point in my life, I want friendships where I can show up fully for someone and know they would do the same for me.

I made the difficult decision to stop responding and slowly distance myself from these friendships. At first, it was really hard. Losing a friendship feels a lot like a breakup, and I was genuinely sad for the first month. But with time and distance, I realized it was the best decision I could have made for myself.

I’m actually happier now. I have another friend who I consider one of my best friends because she gives me the same love, effort, and energy that I give to her. That friendship has shown me what a healthy, balanced friendship feels like.

Looking back, I realize those two friendships weren’t necessarily bad — we were just no longer on the same page. We didn’t have the same priorities or goals in life, and that’s okay. Sometimes people are meant to be part of a certain chapter of your life, not the whole story.

My advice is: if you’re thinking about letting go of a friendship because it feels one-sided and you constantly feel like you’re the only one putting in effort, don’t be afraid to choose yourself. It may hurt at first, but eventually you’ll make room for friendships with people who give you the same love, time, and energy you give them.
