Yoga teacher- need recs on software

Hi, I’m very very new to all of this so please be kind.

Have always worked in corporate. Couldn’t hack it anymore so became a yoga teacher. I’m still at the very beginnings of it.

I registered my company name with the CRO, set myself up on revenue for income tax, have a booking system going, business bank account but I’m completely lost on how to do accounting side of things or how to manage it.

Any recommendations for software that can help towards that? Again I haven’t a clue what I’m doing I’m learning as I go. Any tips at all? Just feel so out of my depth with everything.

Hello it’s me again that anxious new teacher but with good news!

Had my usual two classes this morning, starting out which isn’t long ago, I’ve only had max 4 people, minimum 1 person. Much to my surprise, both of my classes were fully booked this morning! Few of those students are returning ones too. Man I feel so proud of myself today. The feedback has been really positive also. I don’t want to ride this wave too hard because I know next week might be different again. But what a feeling seeing smiling faces and messy hair post Savasana!

Grants for sole trader start up?

I’m a yoga teacher and registered as a sole trader. Are there any grants available to help towards professional development, equipment purchase etc?
Also a single parent if that makes any difference.

Rishikesh- what to pack?

As the title suggests!

I will be going to Rishikesh in October for yoga training.

I have a baggage allowance of 40kg, I was thinking of getting a hikers backpack instead of a suitcase, can I even fly with this?

Can anyone who has been before offer a checklist of items to pack

2 years 10 months of homelessness

I actually forget what it’s like to live a normal life.

I forget what it’s like to cook a proper meal, to wash dishes in a sink and not the bathtub, to put on a load of washing and not have to make a journey out of it, to walk into another room, to not share a bed with my child, to have space for belongings, to open a window beyond 2 inches, to have silence, to eat at a table, to have space to play with my child, to sit on a sofa, to have people over for tea, to date, to turn a key in a door, to relax somewhere other than the bed, to not have be in at a certain time, to park my car outside my door, to be able to open my door and get fresh air, to be able to practice yoga without hitting off furniture, to have a house plant, to not be embarrassed about putting my address on things.

My whole life has stopped and as everyday passes I get less and less hopeful that I will have a future. My child has known homelessness their whole life. I’m crying into a void because there’s thousands of other people in the same boat. Why is this happening, why isn’t this crisis being resolved? How is this crisis not being considered a human rights issue? How is it justifiable that we treat families who are homeless with such disregard for their physical, emotional, psychological wellbeing?

I don’t understand it. I don’t understand our country. I’m having a bad day, just would like to live again.

Please tell me some poses you can’t do?

I’m posting here a bit as I find my feet as a new teacher. My head is sucked into Instagram. I like connecting with other teachers there but it’s very hard not to go down rabbit holes. I also understand that the asanas are not the whole practice, even though that is what we typically offer as teachers.

I can’t pincha, and my wheel is pretty out of shape too- I have very bad shoulder mobility/stability due to a life long chronic illness. I feel for some reason this makes me “a bad teacher.” So, please tell me how long you’ve been a teacher and what poses you can’t do? Or give me some perspective on things?

Is it me? Is it the summer? Is it them?

New teacher here as in can count how many classes I’ve done on one hand.

I’m struggling hard to fill mats. For example I can book the space I’m using for only 2 hours at a time. First class I had 2 people, second class there were 3.

Have the same classes again this weekend and there is literally no interest whatsoever. I use instagram to market and I get a lot of enquiries but very little bookings. I’m taking this semi-personal lately.

Where I live is a small city, not a whole lot happening in it. I’m not matcha latte type teacher (absolutely no hate!) but more of a teacher who honours the practice. And I don’t know if this is what is putting people off?

I don’t know, my heads just a mess today

How do you recruit students to your classes as a new teacher?

So I’m half way through my teacher training and I’m delivering classes as part of my training requirements.

I’m having such a hard time with trying to find people to come. I live away from family, friends have zero interest. Now I’m not saying the classes I’ve had so far have been empty. But I find many people will say they’ll go but then don’t. How can I keep myself from internalising this? I recognise I do have a rejection wound.

What are some good tips to help finding students? I’m in touch with some charities to offer free classes to their service users so that is in the pipeline thankfully.

My Chemical Romance Glasgow VIP ticket up for grabs

Hi all! I have an MCR vip/golden circle ticket for the gig on the 4th. I’m from Ireland and would have had to travel and unfortunately due to other commitments I won’t be able to go. Just reaching out to see if anyone here would be interested? I know it’s short notice but really don’t want to see it go to waste :) I paid €360 for it and would be willing to part for about €230-250.

Advice on holding my first class?

I’m a teacher in training and I’m hosting my first class next week, actually it looks like I’m doing 2. I’m doing it independently as in not in a gym or studio and they both have filled up.

I know what I’ll be teaching but would appreciate any kind words, your first class experiences or tips. I’m nervous but mostly excited!
