Does anyone else have a furry bowling ball?

My boy runs at me full speed and crashes into me all the time. Is this one of those weird standard Frenchie behaviors?

I won’t be using 1800-Contacts again, but how did this even happen?

Early June I went online to the site with my downloaded prescription from my eye Dr. office. I logged in and fed the 1800-Contacts site the new script. I got a message saying they had to check it with my eye Dr.

The prescription had changed. Previously I had been 4.0 in both eyes and was now 4.5 in the left eye, but still 4.0 in the right eye. About a day later I get a message saying my prescription is verified and I can place my order. So, I go in and place my order for two boxes of each eye.

They send me four boxes of 4.5.

So, I logged in today and I can’t find any evidence of my current prescription. The most recent prescription I can see that they have in file is from 2022, back when I was 4.0 in both eyes.

So I get on the chat and they try to tell me that they went off my most recent prescription, which was still valid. Which if they did they would have sent me four 4.0, not four 4.5. Also, last I checked my 2022 prescription would not still be valid as of 2026. Then they said their warehouse just made a mistake.

They are going to expedite my correct contacts to me and I have to use an emailed label to send back the wrong stuff. Frankly, I’m not even sure what all they are sending me except that there will be 4.0 in there and I’ll just keep two of the 4.5 for my left eye.

For anyone looking to use them, they are not being careful and you may find the lower price comes with extra hassle. I know, first world problems, but I wasn’t planning on going out all 4th of July weekend in my bedtime glasses.

Do their tails work?

I’ve got a new Frenchie / English mix. I’ve never had a Frenchie before, but with my English who passed a few months ago, his face was such that the only way I could tell he was happy was that he would aggressively wag his nubby little tail. (Ugh, I miss him so much!)

This little guy has a tail shaped like a comma and it doesn’t move. Well, it can kinda perk up when he’s playing, but it never wags. Is that a Frenchie thing, or a mix thing, or just a him thing?

Looking at Strollers - Yes or No?

I have a 10 week old Frenglish puppy and I was looking online at stroller options for him, but I’m feeling conflicted over the entire notion of putting a dog in a stroller.

On one hand, he’s a dog who will presumably do dog things if he’s treated like a dog. He should be out sniffing the ground and walking. Using his nose to understand the world at ground level is important for development.

On the other hand, he has a flat face and could overheat easily during the summer and he is also small and would struggle to keep up for any length of time walking around. Or get stepped on when we are out places. Plus being up higher means he has more people-level visibility, and they love people.

If I was to get a stroller for situational use, what situations? Because I could see myself becoming stroller dependent with him pretty easily, since he’d be contained and it would just be easy.

Getting A Lapsed GI Bill Back?

Let me run a scenario by you guys and see if it is hopeless or if there is an avenue: My veteran is 100% T&P. He came back from his last tour in about 2007 (I think, but I can clarify with him.) Due to timing and certain rule changes, he had a time limit from when he started using his GI Bill to when it would expire.

After he came back he started a semester in college while having no idea he had TBI. Between the pressures of life as a young father and inability to concentrate, presumably due to the TBI, he never completed that semester. Unfortunately, that started his “clock” on his GI Bill.

He got his 100% which includes the TBI the VA acknowledges is service-connected a few years ago. He’s been doing great, those kids are adults, and he’d like to school but we really don’t have the money. Is there any hope in fighting to get his GI Bill back?

Pet Insurance Mix Breed Question

Picking up my boy tomorrow. His litter was an accident between a Frenchie and an English bulldog. He’s just over eight weeks old and I have no idea what he’s really going to look like when he gets bigger.

When filling out info for pet insurance quotes, do I list him as a mix or as a Frenchie? I don’t want to get a claim denied later one way or the other because I didn’t list what he is correctly.

Recently lost my old boy. Said I wasn’t even going to consider getting another dog until July. Then a friend of a friend posted on FB that his Frenchie and his English had a mishap. Puppies will be ready to go late this month.

My old boy was a rescue and was as well trained as any bulldog can be from the get go. Any advice for proper training is appreciated.

He’s apparently the most chill lazy fat potato of his litter.
