Switching dispensary for the first time from Montu, any advice?

Hey all.

So like many of us here, I've been through a lot of different strains since starting on MC. I've recently found two I really like and want to continue ordering but Montu now has no stock and no replenishment date.

They're both from Xeal according to the packaging, alternaleaf gave me the option to switch to their dispensary instead of Montu - does anyone have any experience of reliability making this switch or a similar one?

Whats eating my Strawberries?

I've been having a really good go at growing my own chillis and strawberries at the moment. They're all in the same tent together.

I've had slugs on my chillis non stop, keeping them at bay with garlic water spray. However my strawberry plants have been doing really well, seemingly untouched by the slugs, until now. Over the last week the fruit has been taking damage and today I've found it stripped entirely.

I live in the woods, so there is alot of wildlife here. Rabbits, Mice, Squirrels, tons of birds all coexist in our garden. Im guessing this is the work of mice rather than slugs, but can anyone confirm or offer any advice please? 1st pic is how I found them today, 2nd pic is how they were looking 3 days ago... Thanks!

Frog or Toad Tadpoles? They're starting to get their little legs now!

Can anyone tell me if these are frog or toad tadpoles? Is there any way of telling this early?

World Cup Summer - the best Fishing?

I just had a thought as a non football fan... I am not particularly interested in the world cup, but when it does come around, do any other anglers that feel the same as me look forward to their favourite spots more than likely to be empty?

My local is a really popular spot, and its always 50/50 as to whether there will be enough space for me to fish amongst the other guys there. When its empty its pure bliss, but that isn't often.

I've had a couple of solo nights there this week and wondered if its probably down to the world cup being on, anyone else take advantage of this here?

Fishing on the night of the Summer Solstice, yay or nay?

As the title says... its the summer solstice today, and I had a thought to ask if anybody has any stories, theories, or whatever really surrounding sea fishing in the UK over the summer solstice, and if it makes a difference or if its a particularly good date to fish. This can include fresh/salt mixed estuaries & rivers that hold saltwater species like Bass etc.

Planning to go out tonight, can't seem to find many write ups about sea fishing over the summer solstice, so thought I'd ask! Cheers.

Big spider in the water whilst fishing, River Fal, Cornwall UK.

I've been fishing my entire life, and never have I seen anything quite like this....

I noticed a pretty big spider almost swimming near the surface of the water. I was on a pontoon on the river fal, in Cornwall UK probably around 2am.

I thought it was maybe a big house spider that had somehow ended up in the river, but I've just learnt we have semi aquatic spiders in the uk that can get pretty big? Not the best video I know - but hope someone can ID, probably one of my creepiest fishing encounters yet.

Got a little carried away at the plant nursery... then the garden center....

As we do!!! I am very lucky to have a fantastic plant nursery near me, along with a handful of good garden centers here in Cornwall.

I got all of the pots for £62.50 in a huge pot sale they had on. Not including the plants, of corse...!! They were still very reasonably priced. Anyway, just showing them off!! 😄

Recieved an almost brand new Bose PA from a stranger today, blew up my pedal power in excitement.

Yeah so today was pretty mad. I got a message from some good friends of mine, I used to run an open mic night in an old world war 2 telecoms bunker that they own. We made some really great memories together and spent a good few years running some awesome events there. The message said they had received a load of music gear that they need to pass on/donate and they wanted it to go to me.

A local lady and her husband used to play as a duo, i didn't know them, but the husband recently died and this local lady wanted their gear to go to another local musician that would use it. My friends had been passed the gear to use, but they did not feel it was right to keep it as they aren't really musicians, despite running the open mic with me at their place for a couple of years. They felt it wasn't theirs and they needed to pass it on to someone it'll have a true home with. I've been performing most of my adult life, but my early years and where I learnt my craft was at their place, at the open mics I was running.

The gear was pretty insain to recieve. A full Bose L1 system virtually brand new, with the B1 bass module, a flight case with a 4 channel mixer, a flight case with 2 x SM58s and a mic mixer thing, and 2 boxes full of leads, tambourines and percussive stuff, and pedals. The pedals were an old aria head rush looper, and some behringer ones I unfortunately wont have much use for.

I had my usual pedal board in the car, and so I had to run and grab it as we set up this PA and got out one of my mates guitars. I didn't have my lead bag, therefore I didn't have my power pack for my pedal board. I used one my friend had and thought it was the right voltage... wrong - instant burning smell.

Luckily it spared my pedals, but my mxr mini iso brick is fried. But to be honest, nothing can kill my buzz from recieving such an incredible haul of gear from a stranger in such good faith and in memory of their partner. It will absolutely be used and loved for many years to come. I hear the lady may be attending my next gig in the village this coming Monday, I hope she does!

My woodland cottage garden renovation

I've spent the last few weeks working really hard in my garden. We are lucky enough to have this beautiful space in Cornwall, but the garden had become quite dilapidated and overgrown. I had a vision to make the garden a really lovely space to enjoy this summer. I have never done much gardening at all to be honest, its more of my partners thing. But I had the time and the vision, and I'm so pleased how its turned out!!

Honestly, I know nothing about gardening but this project has got me now looking at apprenticeships, gaining RHS certificates and trying to become a gardener! I had no idea what this would do to my overall health, mentally and physically... and now I don't want to stop. I've also been at a total loss at what to do with my life recently after a failed attempted career change. The failure resulted in giving me the time to do this, which has actually made me think I should be doing this sort of work here in cornwall. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

The grass is still to grow along the top, and the wildflowers are still to come up. I've got about 40 chilli plants on the go, inside and out. Strawberries growing, a couple of really good looking bleeding hearts (picked up from a nursery established but continuing to grow!) - and most of all I'm proud of my small belfast sink pond. I managed to get 3 belfast sinks for £30 on marketplace...!! 2 of them are Hosta homes now and the biggest is a wildlife pond. Filled up with local water from the spring in the woods and full of plants and rocks - I'm very pleased with how clear it has stayed.

Anyway, just showing off my novice skills really as I've impressed myself with this, as I genuinely have winged this as best I can. Photos show day by day progress until the final pics before it all blooms. I'll update again in a month or so!!
