Known Donor Cost Breakdown

I would love to hear someone's cost breakdown when they went the known donor route in the United States. I know that it depends on the state. But just would love to hear your experiences!

Polyamory and Sperm Donation

I'm looking for a bit of advice from people who have been in this situation.

*Full disclosure: i understand that I need to engage with a lawyer, have a known donor contract drawn up, and complete a second parent adoption*

My partner (F) and myself (F) and we are planning to have a baby. Obviously we can't have a baby without sperm. My other partner (M) has offered to be the sperm donor. Which is great news! But it also has been an emotional rollercoaster just thinking everything through.

We have considered the legal consideration. And the whole fertility process is so wild, because using a known donor requires psych evals, testing, meeting with lawyers.

(I understand the legal part but it's so interesting people can just have one night stands and have a kid, but we have to jump through so many hoops.)

There are pros to using a known donor and I have read a lot about how donor conceived individuals as adults prefer a known donor. So it would be nice to have someone that can be apart of the kid's life and we have access to their medical information.

But my partner doesn't have an interest in being a co-parent, but will be a trust adult in the kid's life. We've discussed boundaries and what feels right/doesn't feel right.

It would be nice to hear from people who have been in similar situations.

And yes, I understand a lot of people will have strong opinions to share with me and give me advice about how I need to ensure I take legal action.

At-home insemination in Georgia

Hello! I live in a state where at-home insemination is not legal. I think it's ridiculous, but I understand. I was just wondering if anyone who lives in Georgia has ever done it anyways.

And I know that I will get comments warning me against this, I completely understand your point of view and I'm not saying that I am going to.

I just know that people have done this and I'm curious on what legal steps that they took and the obstacles that they faced in terms of ensuring parental rights (i.e., second parent adoption, termination of donors rights etc.)?
