bio active tank btw!!

im still learning, please be nice but if something is wrong please tell and i will improve it! i had to put a drainage layer because there was a bit of pooling at the bottom (to clarify I will be moving her to a 18' x 18' x 36' very very soon, i have had her since february 14th, got her at a reptile expo, she was a baby) any more questions ill answer

i have to build a shoe barricade so she won't get under anything

for some context i got potato chip here about a week or two ago from a rescue place on instagram. he is around 3 years old and he does have a growth stunt. i have taken him out and let him explore about 3 times(i have held him and stuff as-well). in his cage he bobs his head and gets a dark black beard all the time. i will say i do have another girl bearded dragon who is also about to be 3 years old. obviously i don't let them see each other or anything like that. i keep all their things very separated. i just dont know why he keeps doing this, can anyone help me out?!

this is my first bioactive tank, i noticed this and started looking online, everything i read said its okay and just means the ecosystem is healthy. do i need to remove it? (ive also seen if you remove it it will just keep coming back) what do i need to do? or can i just keep it in there?
