21 f - is it even necessary to run faster than this?

I saw someone post a 20 minute 5k which seems CRAZY FAST, but I’m wondering if a lot of these people running that fast are taller than me (longer legs).

Is it even necessary for me to attempt faster than this? I’m thinking to focus on adding distance now.

Just wanted to share. The most I ever ran in 1 month!

This is from last month! I tried to share it before but my account got falsely suspended for spam and just put back up now

Got falsely banned a few days before the 500-day streak badge

I don’t usually care much about online streaks, but been using this site a while and I unintentionally built up a streak that was close to 500.

However just before I hit 500-day mark, I got falsely flagged for spam and my account was banned by mistake and my entire streak deleted.

Definitely mildly infuriating

How can I train for a half marathon?

Hi! I have been running for 1 year and here are my most recent runs from a few days ago. I haven’t run further than 10k yet.

21 f if that means anything

My resting heart rate has lowered.

Since I started running, my resting heart rate dropped to 57-59. I swear it used to be in the 80s/90s. I started running in 2024, but only took it seriously these past few months.

Not sure how I feel about my heart rate being lower… I know it’s normal but I plan to train more, I consider this still the beginning, and I’m nervous about it lowering further it makes me anxious. My heart rate has never been this low before. It’s the only part of running that puts me off because it freaks me out.

I noticed doing daily tasks is a lot easier.

What next?

Hiya! I’m self studying my TL which is Spanish. So here’s what I’ve done so far…

- set my device to Spanish and scrolled in Spanish.

- memorised the 1000 most common words using flashcards. This took sooo long. (I know flashcards are debated but I feel like I’m able to understand a lot more after doing this, so it’s given me a strong foundation. This is weird but I also love flashcards, so I enjoy doing them anyway.)

- I listened to Spanish music and shadowed the pronunciation. I also learnt the lyrics of 3-4 songs.

- I also completed 6 hours on Dreaming Spanish.

So, any ideas what I should do next? I don’t want to spend money FOR NOW. In the future I want to attend classes but for now I’m seeing what I can teach myself. I don’t live near Spanish speakers.

Can someone send me the photos where there is 2 versions of each Beatle doing different expressions?

Idk if this makes sense, but I accidentally deleted the images off my gallery and I NEED them back but I can’t find them and I didn’t want to post this on the main subreddit.

The other version of them has less opacity. Just an individual shot of each Beatle in black and white.

Pls tell me someone knows what I mean.

What level should I be watching at?

I only have 2 hours logged on Dreaming Spanish so far, but I already have a vocabulary of around 1000 words that I practice with flashcards, plus I studied a bit before. I understand 99% of the beginner content, but I don’t understand the intermediate content yet as it’s a bit too fast.

If I keep watching the beginner content, will I eventually start to understand the intermediate content?

Does an app like this exist?

A kindle type thing where you can read books, but you can select words you don’t know and it tells you their English meaning.

I’m asking because one of my goals for my TL is to be able to read books, but right now it’s too long a process because I have to keep pausing to look up words.

Thank you :)

Rate my learning plan?

Hi!! So, I’m learning a second language for the first time, I’m still at the beginner stage but I have a lot of spare time because I’ve finished my bachelors degree and I’ve got a few weeks before I start working, so I thought now is the best time to start:

My plan is to learn by flashcards AT FIRST. I’m going to learn all the basic vocab but also any words I want to say, like things I would be interested in talking about. I’ll revise them whenever I have a minute.
I’ve also started keeping a word document of all the vocab I know already so I can go over it, so far I actually know about 400 vocab words already, but I want to at least triple this

when I have a strong base vocabulary, I want to watch content in the language to practice my listening, and read books (that are at my level). I also have a grammar book I’ll go through.

I also want to practice verb conjugation and get more confident with it hopefully

Then eventually I want to go to a class/get a tutor to practice my speaking!!

Thank you for reading :)

dissertation due in 2 days

Don’t panic lol, I’m basically done.

I might add one more paragraph.

Is there anything I should do now? Just keep proofreading it until the due date?

OK so I time how much work I do with a stopwatch and even on days I’m in the library all day, I work max 4 or 5 hours on days when I’m productive.

People are really studying for 10 hours everyday in undergrad or do they count the time they’re procrastinating?

y’all although don’t like to admit it, I mindlessly scroll a LOT. I have Reddit, Youtube, Instagram, TikTok (unfortunately). I know my it’s a problem but I’m wondering how I can use this to my advantage.

How could I make my device recommend more videos/reddit in my TL? Is there a way to change my device to be in my TL as much as possible? It would be great for immersion. I get recommended some videos and posts sometimes, but the majority is in English. If I’m forced to interact in the TL every day it could help me improve fast.

I have a VPN and changed my device settings, but I still get recommended a lot of English content.
