It just makes me ask so many questions:

- Is the employer unwilling to train someone on their own systems?

- Does the employer think people are dumb and cannot learn from such training?

- Does the employer think that if someone is trained on a system, that same system must carry them the rest of their career? No pivots?

- Do they not understand they are turning away extremely competent individuals who are qualified?

In my FIFTEEN YEARS of experience I have NEVER seen someone take more than a week to be trained on ANY system, especially ones where the system does the exact same shit other systems do.

It just seems like a really anachronistic way of doing a job posting where maybe employers had more leverage in the past, but nowadays its wildly tone deaf.

As time goes on my hookups are more rare, but often come in pairs (at least I hope, since the last one was sorta meh)

Mine is multi-day debugging a specific issue. But the feeling of finally getting past it is great!

I use the latest models b/w Claude & GPT on VS Code copilot. (Currently Sonnet 4.6 and Chat-GPT-5.4/5.5).

Claude has always been the 200+ IQ drunk wife - smart enough to give useful answers but absolutely blasted when changing anything in the code.

GPT has been the science nerd with an infinite wedgie - smarter than Claude, but some sort of stick stuck up his ass when giving answers. Usually flawless when coding - until now.

I don't know what's going on but there seems to be a marked decline in GPT-5.4/5.5's ability to problem solve - started this past week. 5.5 is new so not sure if that new model just isn't as great as 5.4.

I wanted to get a feel of how you / your museum feels about AI tools to increase visitor engagement...like having an app they can use to return to you digitally after visiting in person, or otherwise providing educational materials or other keepsakes that are AI generated.

It's a hot topic these days so trying to gauge where the interest is on this.
