Used to fish from shore in Alaska for salmon. I have some salmon rods and spinners. Not sure what I am doing around here. The sockeye season just opened and I’d love to go to the skagit river and try to catch some!?

Any recommendations on type of poles? Spinners? Spots? Do I have to fly fish or can I use my salmon rods? Cast from shore? Thank you so much!

Not sure if this is the right place to post. Wondering if anyone would want to anonymously talk about admin support and overall school/work culture as a teacher in the district. I am local and commute to work but am thinking about applying for a position at the middle or high school. Trying to find info on parking. All I can find is you can either buy a pass per day for one of the lots or do a shuttle. Is there any free parking anywhere? Is it worth buying the pass? Any insight would be helpful.
