I don't think Workers party is gonna change the political status quo at all in the long run

Decreasing total fertility rate alongside half-hearted measures by the govt to improve it.

Importing so many foreigners, in which the huge majority will vote for PAP because they are more well off than your typical average Singaporean. Also, why bite the hand that feeds you?

Even if WP stays clean and not stir up any more issues, PAP still has an overwhelming advantage. The 2025 election was the best moment for them to gain more seats. Now they are screwed, Singaporeans who want change are screwed.

If you have been to Tampines or Punggol, you can tell PAP are very afraid of losing these GRCs to WP. They consistently improved the infrastructure, established many community sessions with the people (I.e. Always see Gan Kim Yong) and even give out free gifts that aren't cheap (I.e. some can be worth up to $50). Definitely will sway some votes away.

Unless the PAP messed up big time, I think the future for the opposition is bleak, no matter how competent they are.

I really don't understand why some people are reluctant to share such info, instead requesting users to dm them which is a hassle.

Why is it uncomfortable? Disclosing such info doesn't reveal your true identity nor give it any hints. Also, there are like tens of thousands of students in SG. Unless your polytechnic course has a very small intake, then that I can understand.

At the very least give a range. Or to be blunt, don't ask questions here if you are scared in the first place. I mean,

It's like those online sellers promoting their products and when you ask for the price they kept saying dm for more details. Instantly turns me off.

Job hunting right now and am applying to both SMEs and MNCs.

I see a lot of reddit posts warning about working in SMEs because of the toxic environment. But then again SMEs make up the bulk of companies in SG so it's impossible for everyone to work in MNCs.

Personally I don't really have a choice i guess because i am mediocre. Need to widen my net.

However just wondering for fresh grads do y'all just solely focus on MNCs? Or doesn't matter.

Curious.

Once seen as a niche path, piano teaching is gaining ground as a flexible, resilient career choice, even though instructors work long hours and get uncertain income during times of economic crises.

I am going to be honest. I have mental health issues so my ego is fragile. Doesn't excuse me but it means i am more prone to retaliating back unhealthily.

Sometimes I do use reddit to ask questions because my social circle is small. I have to ask in certain subreddits that are closely related to my country.

But there's always that one guy or even more who's snarky or will insult me for asking "stupid" questions. I am fine with disagreements but come on at least be civil.

Sometimes it's due to a misunderstanding. It's very infuriating because I obviously can't explain the entire context in just one reddit post. If anything they can just ask me for more details not straight up attack me.

So whenever I tried to be reasonable, i just got harsher messages or downvoted. So what happens is i become as toxic as them because my tolerance has a limit. Then the toxicity gets worse because i will get harsher replies and more downvotes. And i become so miserable. And i am afraid of what I have become. I keep ruminating and want to have the last laugh i am so pathetic.

This in turn interferes with my daily life which is so silly. Like I am supposed to be finding a job now and i am wasting time dwelling on this?

I do try to let it go at times but it just becomes unbearable at some point. I just wonder how do you guys deal with such rude comments and be the better man? Because there are still some nice people in those subreddits i frequent to but some are just urghhh...and as mentioned i may need to seek advice there in future too.

Is calling an acquaintance "pretty" worthy of being ghosted and removed from social media?

Context we were just Uni classmates. Previously worked together, were on great terms. Now in the same class again but in a different group, no contact with each other at all this time round.

I was just being honest. In hindsight yeah it can be awkward but I don't think it deserves ghosting.....

Regardless I will tone down my message next time.

Please be civil guysssss. I am fine with disagreements but not personal attacks and whatever. I posted this in another subreddit and the responses weren't the best I can assure you.

EDIT: Important to say that I didn't break any rules by sharing this. NUS only told us to not share the case study details at that point in time. Not like it's relevant anymore or I remember anyway.

It has been 3 years, but I don't think much has changed. But first and foremost, it's entirely case study. NOT your typical admission interview like why Business, tell me about yourself, etc etc. It's more intensive. So don't get a cultural shock or whatever.

Firstly, you enter the venue and they verify your documents and identity.

After that, icebreaker among your group, total about 6-7 people IIRC. To ease the tension before the case study interview.

After that, your group will be taken to another room and given 30 minutes to prepare for the case study. Pens, paper, and calculators will be provided. The case study is quite extensive, like around 10+ pages and it’s NOT just a typical structured reading passage. It is all fiction and includes materials like brochures, a person’s profile, gym / class schedule and among other documents.

You really need to digest the info ASAP since it's like all over the place. Quickly decide and focus on the info you think is KEY. You don't have time to read everything in detail. You really don't have much time to emphasize again. Don't dilly dally.

Afterwards each person will be given an opportunity to present depending on your number, from ascending to descending. I cannot rem the questions asked but as long as you understood the Case study you will be fine. After everyone finished presenting it will become a free for all discussion.

Don't worry about the presentation order. Chances are that what you are presenting will be different from the rest because there's just that much info in the case study. Also, in my group it was 2 minutes per person. DO NOT WASTE TIME ON FORMALITIES LIKE INTRODUCING YOURSELF OR WHATEVER CRAP. JUST START PRESENTING YOUR POINTERS. THEY ARE VERY STRICT ON THE TIME. Be concise and go straight to the point

NGL personally I screwed up REAL BAD. Everyone in my group did decently, some even did well. I didn't expect it to be so intense. I can't absorb anything and i was speechless. I didn't even say anything relevant i just spout nonsense in an attempt to make myself feel relevant. My mind's in a blank. I still felt the embarassment till today. Needless to say I didn't get the offer LOL. I don't mean to make any excuses but partially it's because i am not in a right state of mind + not feeling well.

So for the upcoming interviewees, please make sure you are calm and composed. Don't be too anxious otherwise you can't process the info from the case study, legit. If you are feeling unwell, try to request for a reschedule of the interview. The interviewers are friendly, so don't worry. Just that your group might be competitive.

That's about it. NUS is really treating this seriously. I don't think SMU nor NTU's interview process is as structured or detailed. Heck even SUSS gave me a week to prepare for the case study before the interview so i was definitely well prepared.
