why do people sell things without full clarity/knowledge of WHAT they’re selling really is..

hi guys! kind of simple question here. i have gotten 20+ reviews and they have all been 5 stars. i’ve only been on etsy for 2 months tomorrow.
should i be responding to these? have i screwed up by not replying to them beforehand? 😬
i hand write thank you notes personalized to every order & person that buys from me.
i’m sure it looks better for my shop if i reply but i feel like ill be reiterating my thank you note lol
I feel like I am a drop in the bucket in this community sometimes so …. I wanna know ….
Any 🍃💨 friendly stitchers out there?
I partake to combat chronic pain from hardware in my hips and back.
Part of the reason I fell in love with this hobby- Something to keep me busy while I rest!
Anybody else?
okay i am EXTREMELY biased as i do hand paint/design/sell canvases but
i am tired of people printing onto canvas!!! i understand it allows the hobby to be more accessible or affordable for some … but i just dont think id enjoy stitching on a printed canvas and i hate the uprise im seeing in them. i fell in love with needlepoint because it felt like a community craft in a way..
you fall in love with a designers work, you finally get it in your hands & every time you work on it you reflect on the hours of creativity and hard work it takes for you to enjoy the craft.
maybe i sound like a tree hugger or a karen :/ hopefully not.
i just love the art of needlepoint. the technicalities of it. the time it takes - it feels like a labor of love in all aspects. i think printing on it just takes that away from me
*im not judging or criticizing anybody that stitches on them or prints them themselves, i just wanted to know if i was the only person thinking this i suppose 🥲*
are these stats considered to be good? i am trying to make this my full time gig.
thoughts/opinions??
shop has been open since march 26 of this year!
hi! i started my etsy account slightly under 2 months ago and i am …. utterly confused lol. i know that i cant get money out of my reserve (since im a new store) until a certain amount of time has lapsed OR i have entered proper tracking. i promise, i have read every etsy handbook and FAQ page there is 😅
my question here is… how the hell do i know when money will ACTUALLY be put into my account?
I talked to etsy support a week or so ago and he explained to me that the shipping $ comes off of the top of what goes into my account. even with that in mind, im just like …. not getting any money deposited into my account! i genuinely just wanna know when i will get some money because, as we all know, it takes money to make money!! (im not hard pressed to get it to continue my business - i just am frustrated because it doesn’t seem to have any way to truly look at like a “deposit schedule” so to speak. i do have my deposits turned on the next day option so when money is available, i get it in my account within 24 hrs)
i’m really frustrated because it ~looks~ like i have a good bit of money and it seems like it never shows lol. i will also throw in, i have a shipping label printer and as soon as i have the order packed (before ship by date, usually) i print it off and take it to usps … so there aren’t any holds regarding people not getting their orders.
i dont know if this really makes sense but if anybody please understands my struggle or has been here before - i need to be talked to like im 5 haha
i’m going on a birthday trip tomorrow-tuesday to an air bnb in middle of nowhere Illinois!!
are there any needlepoint stores near the area? not able to find anything through google so .. assuming it’s a no. just thought i’d ask!!!
my high school best friend is getting married this summer!
she is one of those people that you cannot buy anything for because she already has it all (no shade, just the facts lol) so i thought id make the couple a gift rather than buying one!
I’d like some couple related design ideas - i can paint my own canvas or purchase one either way. she is kinda uppity so i dont want it to be anything too silly or cheesy. something elegant and sweet - home decor that they will appreciate even after the wedding “honeymoon phase” has worn off!
thank you for any advice!
(my only idea was to design a matchbook with their new last name & wedding date? but thought that make be a little too simple or cheesy? she’s not a needlepoint gal or really much of a crafty person so i’m trying to make sure it fits her vibe as much as it aligns with my labor of love!)
hi, if this is not allowed i’m sorry!
i have started a small business painting canvases. i have been creating my own designs and making sales on etsy. i’ve had really good success so far!
i had a customer contact me after receiving her order and ask if i would work with her to design a custom canvas for her stitch club! they are going to watch a cubs game & have a needlepoint night. i am attaching the canvas below. i had such a fun time doing this for them and ended up having the opportunity to paint 9 of them & then have her a OG customer a freebie to raffle off for giving me a chance to boost my sales! 🥰 i put a lot of time and care into my designs and canvases. this is one of my smaller designs but as stated previously, i worked with the customer and her ideas to create exactly what she wanted! (Go cubs go with the O’s as baseballs - stamp style - was the direction i was given!)
because i enjoyed this process so much, i wanted to put feelers out and see if there was anybody else interested in something similar?
