MJD iced coffee design?

MJD iced coffee design?

Is it just me or does this design look almost exactly like Morgan Julia Designs iced coffee canvas? I say this as someone who has just recently stitched it - it’s almost exact. If you want to copy a design to stitch for yourself, cool. But seems wrong to copy it for profit, no?

Where are the margins?!

Okay… Why is no one talking about the fact that these canvases have basically negative margins?!

They’re cute, don’t get me wrong, but where exactly is the background supposed to go? The logo and color swatches are practically in the design

I feel like I’m missing something because everyone commenting on the posts seems unbothered.

Stop minimizing the talent of women

So. Came across this on TikTok today and it really irked me. Yes. Finishing an ornament is expensive. But hourly? I guarantee the (mostly) women who are performing these services are not getting paid a wage that is commensurate with their talent and expertise. I’m so tired of people minimizing the time and talent of professions that are historically feminine. Especially by other women. Acknowledging the physical labor involved and then quickly discounting said labor, comparing it the cost of botox? Ick.

Back Order

Does anybody have issues with websites not disclosing that canvases are on back order? I ordered 2 canvases from Stitch Therapy where there was in a “20% In-Stock Sale( Valentine’s , maybe?)” , which you could click on. I didn’t get one of them for months and still don’t have the other one. When I called to ask they said( in an annoyed manner—- how dare I ask !) that these are “ on back order and that’s just how it goes!” So if that’s the case, I think they should say it on the site , as many stores do, instead of “all in stock canvases”. There was never any mention of that on the items as some stores will do.

Nashville Needleworks ???

I dropped off an ornament to get finished over a year ago and they have never called me back. I went in a while ago (May) and it was so disorganized and I asked them if they had my ornament that I dropped off last June and I missed the call or something but they were SO rude when they were telling me no they didn’t.

Should I go back? I feel like they just lost it???

“Patently unfair”

Sorry, but her saying that since she can’t see the pictures and others can it’s unfair to claim is so funny to me 😅 like what is the op supposed to do about it? It’s a problem with FB. (I also can’t see the pics for what it’s worth, but like the one girl said it’s just needlepoint)

“One of a kind canvasses!” ripped from other designers

The irony of calling a designer’s work “one of a kind” when it’s clear they’re copying... OP then deleted the picture and subsequently my comment so I called her out on that too 🤣

The fact it has two watchers…

They’re free matchbooks. You can get a round trip Amtrak ticket to NYC for less than that and get the damn things yourself.

Happy stitch videos rub me the wrong way

They seem fairly new. But I feel like this bro is trying to sell me a car or get me to contribute to some kinda scammy startup.

Thoughts on the Friend of Mine Christmas village?

Ugh I’m so torn. I love the colors because I’m much more of a traditional Christmas gal but these look slightly too cottage-y for my taste so not sure if I’ll be ordering any. I genuinely think I would love the designs more if there was a different font on the signs 😅

$130 Scissors?!

Ok I know this is an expensive hobby and I have no problem paying for canvases and threads, but $130 for scissors?! What am I missing about these? Are they magic scissors?

What’s pissing you off on your recent WIP?

For me, curves and circles not being curvy or circle-y! I know this is a square craft, but ughh I’m annoyed with the curves being off
