Does no one have a concept of how much threads are??

Yes, I am such a miserable nitpick that I am ranting about copywriting. I can’t help myself. If you’re not similarly afflicted, you are fortunate.

In no particular order:

Can we delete the word “curate” yet? (Send it to hell with “bespoke”!) It was overplayed 10 years ago FFS. Also, it says nothing. Oh, you carefully select the product that you sell? So do 99% of all needlepoint shops. Sure, not every shop’s selection is my vibe, some may have a narrower or broader range, but they are all making choices for their market and clientele.

(To be fair, I do think Le Fil has good “curation”, I’m just so sick of the word.)

Why do I care that it was curated by the co-founder? Does the co-founder have some magical pedigree or talent to differentiate from all other needlepoint shop buyers? Is it rare for founders to make buying decisions at LNSs? Is this like Beyonce guest editing Vogue? I hate meaningless filler copy that could be used for almost any comparable product or seller.

Why is there a croissant emoji in the subject line?

Finally, I really, really, really want to know the good reasons for my very specific taste. That was just a tease. Tell me more.

I’m sorry I never post here but I HAD TO!!! WHY WOULD YOU TACK LIKE THIS!

I ordered the MacKenzie-Childs Print Leather Project Bag, & Scissors Cover, whose description says “genuine” leather.

I opened the package and it smelled heavily of rubber and plastic. I emailed Penny Linn to ask if these were actually made of leather, as they are nothing like any true leather item I own.

They emailed me back to let me know that it’s vegan leather aka plastic. Not genuine leather at all. As email correspondence has continued, they’re telling me how much they love using these products. Girlypops… I’m not enjoying receiving plastic when I paid for and expected leather!

Grifting and lying makes me so upset. Why lie when they could have just listed these as vegan leather? It’s just so tacky! I figured I’d share here so nobody else is mislead by any “leather” on PL’s website.

Buyer beware, listings can lie, even when from supposedly reputable brands. I won’t trust or purchase from Penny Linn again after this.

what a good way to make sure I won’t shop with you. Moore directly sells them for $38.50. absolutely insane

why do people sell things without full clarity/knowledge of WHAT they’re selling really is..

If you want to create something in the same niche, that’s completely fine, but at least bring your own perspective and originality to it.

Does this kind of copying bother anyone else?

Is anyone else feeling disappointed by the garden club? I was expecting better specialty threads and stitch recommendations

Also, I feel like the next few months will just be the other flowers shown on the mailer

Did anyone see this TT or do you know what she’s up to? Is she the one making frames you can pop your canvas into and call it (F)inished? I’m just really curious how she will change the industry with her idea.

While I know MOST Etsy shops are guilty of stitch copying and such there are so many working hard to try and get their hat in the ring. This post feels tacky. Sorry I don’t like your bow legged cowboy either.

Cute canvas, but my God.. without measurements HOW CAN WE BE EXPECTED TO TELL HER WHAT SIZE BARS ARE NEEDED.

I had to unfollow kennedylanendlpt because I'm getting worked up over her posts lol. Her "designs" are all clip art, including this one where she forgot to hide the notification of the vector image airdrop suggestion

Her new branding is a direct rip off of Penny Linn, even down to the color codes and the reels cover photos

My last complaint is silly but it drives me up the wall when solo-business say "we made this" "we will launch this" "our products" etc. when it's obviously a one person business. She's the worst example of this I've seen to date

The fact that it was liked by a new LNS also scares me. Lord give me strength.
