The Big House sqft

I never noticed this before but when Kody was making the plans for the big house on CP, he said he wanted Meri’s cubicle to be 1500sqft, Janelle and Christine got 2500 and guess what Robyn got….3500. No wonder Christine was so irate about it.

Dry mouth

I wanted to share this here because it could be helpful. I obviously overeat, a lot, and I also have a slightly dry mouth a lot. I’m prediabetic so that’s part of it but I’ve had dry mouth even before then. Well, I started using the dry mouth rinse and spray daily and damn if I don’t have cravings as often. I realized that a lot of times when I’m craving something, I think those are actually misinterpreted dry mouth feelings, if that makes sense. Try it out!

Postpartum treatment plans

The news about a very public case involving a mother and her mental health seems to get more intense and heartbreaking every day.

I’d love to hear from clinicians who work a lot with pregnant/postpartum women and have expertise in this area about creating postpartum mental health treatment plans (long and short term) and ways to spot PPD and postpartum psychosis.

Disturbing facts around Lindsey Clancy case

Between October and January she was prescribed 13 different medications and self-admitted to psych hospitals, the ER and psychiatrists for symptoms that seem quite clearly very severe. I know sometimes this just happens no matter how good the medical and therapeutic interventions are but damn. Curious if others think there was a breakdown of care here or if there was nothing else anyone could do. (I understand we do not have all the details but these are from her attorney and public record)

Betterhelp’s manipulation

I don’t work for BH anymore I just still get the emails. Part of BH’s trick is that they only allow you to bill for 45 minute sessions so that you have to see way more clients in a day to meet the “hours” requirement since you can’t fulfill a full hour with a client. So now that they’re accepting insurance, they’re promoting “some conversations take more than 45 minutes” because you can’t bill the max on insurance at 45 minutes and under. It’s just hilarious that they’re trying to package this as something amazing they’ve done for clients and clinicians when really it’s about their bottom line and they never gave a crap about “longer conversations” before they accepted insurance. And note- only insurance clients get longer sessions, cash pay clients, you got 45 minutes so talk quick.

Therapeutic alliance

For anyone who’s on Rula you know that they recently started asking clients to fill out therapeutic alliance along with their clinical assessments before each appointment. While I understand that they are hoping to highlight any issues in the relationship, this also feels a bit…icky. They encourage you to discuss the score with the client but this seems like a quick way to rupture the alliance. I specialize in BPD. I have a few clients who come religiously each week, talk about how much it’s helping and then rate me moderately. I have to say it’s hard not to take that personal even though I know the sessions are going well. Bringing it up session feels complicated. I don’t want them to feel like I’m upset with them about it even if I take the stance of “hey what’s working well and not working well”. I’ve actually asked without mentioning the score and they say everything is great. Most clients rate totally positive but I have 2 that don’t. Anyway, I wish these didn’t exist because as hard as I might try to fight it, it does make me a little irritated with the client when they rate moderate/low and then say it’s going well. And I don’t want this to turn into me being worried about being authentic and saying what I need to say in session for fear of a low rating for doing so. Thoughts?

Religious therapists

So, I have tried unsuccessfully to find my own therapist. But the last one took the cake. I’m agnostic, spiritual not religious, etc. I started working with a woman who nowhere on her profile, paperwork or in talking to her did she mention anything about religion. Well, cut to about 5 sessions in and we’re discussing an issue and she pauses dramatically and says “I think what you’re looking for and what you need is Jesus”. I was shocked and also amused. Needless to say I let her know that I disagreed with that assessment and won’t be back lol. But y’all. If you’re a religious therapist don’t try the bait and switch tactic to proselytize. I feel pretty betrayed in a way, like she was only listening to find the right time to try and convert me and I wasted so much time and emotional energy with her. I see why Chatgpt is becoming competitive in our space.

Telehealth Location Problems

How would you handle a situation in which an insurance client came clean to you that after months of sessions, they were “back” in the state you reside in after essentially lying about it and living in another state the entire time you saw them. But now they’re back.

Meri & Jen

I follow Meri on TikTok and I’m starting to think she and Jen are more than friends. Their banter is like that of a couple and then I thought about how everyone brought their partner on the tell all, and she brought Jen. I know Jen’s married but sometimes you meet someone and you just click. Honestly I’m happy for them if so.

Notes and trials

This news broke today and I can only guess psychiatric documentation will be utilized, along with other things, for his murder defense. Now, I have absolutely no clue if he was in therapy or if they will use therapy notes in his trial- but it’s an interesting thing to ponder, if any of our clients were suddenly charged with something like murder and our notes were subpoenaed, would that change anything you wish you would’ve written or omitted? (Just to be clear this post is NOT about the specifics of this case, just notes in general when it comes to serious legal charges and psych defenses)

I posted here about car dealerships and got great feedback, thank you so much!! So can you guys point me to the best mechanics in Warner Robins?
I was going to Hughes Honda but got majorly ripped off and over charged last time and so I need to find a reliable and decent mechanic.

Car dealerships

I’m in Warner Robins but don’t mind driving to Macon or other surrounding areas. Looking to get a new car, any recommendations on a dealership you’ve had a good experience with?

TIL: Deacon really is a master of disguise 🥸

I traveled to Vault 81 with Deacon, which I guess I’ve never done before, and to my surprise he wore a Vault 81 jumpsuit the entire time.

How would you handle a client who reached out and trying to schedule a consultation with them has been difficult enough that you already know you don’t want to even have the consultation with them because working with them is going to be a nightmare.
