How to organise reading/lecture & tutorial notes

I mainly type all my notes and I don't really know how to organise it. I've seen people organise it in tables and stuff and I'm like how??? For some context I'm a social sciences student in uni

It feels like I just copy and paste all of the stuff in my textbooks but I'm just making it shorter and nicer to look at, which doesn't help me to memorise or understand. For some reaosn I feel like I have to actually understand the whole topic/mod to be able to make a table/mindmap which doesnt help because there's new stuff every week zzz

How do you organise notes to actually understand it? I use google docs and I have 1 master document with a lot of tabs and sub tabs. I'm just wondering if there's a way to organise my reading notes because its super lengthy

how to tame frizzy hair

ok so no matter what I do, my hair is perma-frizzy and it’s driving me actually insane.

i permed my hair 2 months ago and here’s the routine:

  • hair oil: 1-2x a week
  • conditioner: literally every single day
  • blow drying: every night before bed (cannot sleep with wet hair, sorry)

fyi: hair masks feels like conditioner to me (though i may be wrong here)

what am I doing wrong?? is the perming damage catching up to me or is my technique or routine? drop your holy grail anti-frizz hacks/products below pls,

journal ecosystem for work & study

Been seeing so many journal ecosystem reels on instagram and was wondering if there's one suitable for work. I just started my full time job so I didn't have time to sit and journal anymore (so sad).

Now I just want to do some light journaling - maybe weekly reflections or work milestones while keeping ahead of my work deadlines and being able to have some space for my brain to breathe because my job is incredibly stressful. I have a small campus soft ring notebook for all my work related brain dump but its super chaotic and messy so I can't possibly use the book as a "to do list" / as a calendar / calming space but I don't want to carry around multiple notebooks. I don't like the one sided weekly layout kind of journal.

Edit: in a months time i'll be working full time and studying for an exam so a book that can do both will be great!

Are there any recommendations for a journal that suit my needs?

How to start studying again?

I'm currently working full time and I have a professional exam in about 8 months time. It may be a long time to some but ever since I graduated uni, most of my studying skills went out the window. I've been procastinating on starting my studies. I know I have to start really really soon because I know I'm lacking in a few areas that is being tested.

I end work at 6/6.30pm and reach home around 8pm, I'm super exhausted because my work is mentally draining. None of my family and friends are in the same industry so they can't really relate to me.

How does one get back to studying after a break and maintain it while working ? I know the usual "eat well, sleep well" advice and I do believe its essential, so drop your most unhinged advice :-)

hidden gems that deserve more hype

Maybe its just me but recently I've been seeing a lot of the same book recs on booktok or even through special edition book subscription sites (e.g. Fairyloot/Illumicrate). I caved and read a couple of the more popular books but oh my god, some of them are really badly written. it's rightfully in my "never am I ever going to read this again" pile.

Please drop some hidden gems that isnt ACOTR/Fourth Wing! Would love something to do with dragons too or a baddie FMC

"I'm supposed to know this stuff, right?" - UK grad starting SG litigation training, drowning in drafting.

I graduated from the UK, & recently started my part A training in SG doing litigation. I’m really lucky to be able to find a firm willing to take me so I’m trying to find a way to improve my skills as fast as I can. I work directly under a partner. The other legal trainees/associates in the firm are from local unis and are literally taught how to draft as part of their curriculum. I don’t want to really rely on anyone because “I’m supposed to know these stuff” (arghhh) and honestly they are busy enough with their own work. Are there any online resources that teach good drafting or like even sg law? I know textbooks are a good resource but I’m so busy at work and OT a lot so I don’t really have any time to sit down and read 400+ pages.

TLDR;

  1. best online resources for SG legal drafting for lawyers?
  2. Tips for UK grads adapting to SG litigation
