What is a good solid laptop that will serve me well for the entirety of the ee program and more? Budget would be a bit flexible I wouldn’t mind if it’s a bit pricey if it’s worth it.

Hello everyone, I just finished Grade 11 at a TDSB high school, and I’m planning to do electrical engineering at UofT, TMU, or possible Waterloo. Here are my grades:

- Functions: 92 (75 median)
- Physics: 97 (73 median)
- Chemistry: 87 (78 median)
- English: 92
- Computer Engineering CISCO: 93 (95 median✌️)
- Computer Science: 90 (83 median)
- Co-op 2 credits: 94

I included the average for some of them to show that my school is not inflated, probably.

I know grade 11 marks don’t matter, but I’m planning on doing early applications.

My question is since my chemistry mark is a bit on the lower side for engineering, is it safe to take chemistry grade 12 in the summer so I can focus on getting a better mark there so my low grade 11 doesn’t show up in my early apps? I know Waterloo has something to say about that but I’m honestly not aiming for them because they’re way too far and I don’t think it’s worth it since it’s also expensive to move out. Anyway that’s a debate for another day.

Also, since I’m pretty confident about my physics mark, I’m allowed to ask guidance to make my grade 12 physics class next year in second sem assuming there’s a class available then right? I’m also taking English in the summer so I don’t have to deal with it next year.

Any thoughts about my situation?

I currently have the Deepcool zero dark ak620 with my i7-13700kf. Temps are a bit high but that’s what you’d expect with that hot cpu. I found a phantom spirit at the place where I work at and they’re willing to sell it to me for $40 bucks (cad). This is much lower than market price right now that’s why I’m thinking about buying it. What do you guys think?
