Hello everyone,

I’m a 56 M and I recently had some medical issues going on which made me unable to work for the past weeks.

I got sick note from my family doctor for the past 3 weeks. I also gave my 2 week resignation letter to my employer since it’s really hard for me to work. I think I made a mistake giving in this letter instead of letting my employer accommodate my medical situation.

What options do I have right now? I worked at a warehouse for 5 years and I got really have much benefits. They didn’t pay me for the 3 weeks I was sick either since I didn’t have any sick days remaining.

I can apply for EI sickness benefits I think.

Just trying to figure out what my options are. Thank you everyone.

I’m a 25M that was diagnosed few years ago with ulcerative colitis and hidradentitis suppurativa (HS).

For ulcerative colitis I was on mesalamine when diagnosed and started flaring and steroids didn’t work.

My specialists thought starting rinvoq after failing mesalamine was a good idea since it can treat both UC and HS. It did help. My UC went into remission and my HS got better.

After 3 years, rinvoq is still keeping my UC at remission.

However for HS I’m seeing flares here and there. I don’t know if rinvoq is helping my HS or not. I recently got flares in new spots which I didn’t have before.

In terms of HS, is there anyone that also has HS along with UC? Just trying to figure out what I should do.

My HS specialist said to use some topical cream and said rinvoq should be helping if it isn’t appearing in any new spots (but it is appearing in new spots and draining).

For ulcerative colitis I was on mesalamine when diagnosed and started flaring and steroids didn’t work. Didn’t try any other drug other than this. I was moderate severity started with rectum inflammation which progressed into my sigmoid area.

My specialists thought starting rinvoq after failing mesalamine was a good idea since it can treat both UC and HS. It did help. My UC went into remission and my HS got better.

After 3 years, rinvoq is still keeping my UC at remission.

However for HS I’m seeing flares here and there.

Can I continue using rinvoq for my UC or switch to something safer like a biologic. My blood work and everything looks normal so far while being in rinvoq. Just scared about the side effects.

In terms of HS, is there anyone that also has HS along with UC?
