Recently inherited ownership of our deployment pipeline and discovered that most of our SOC2 “evidence” is basically scattered across Jira comments, Slack approvals, and screenshots from previous audits. On paper the controls exist, but very little of the approval and deployment trail is automatically recorded in a clean way. The auditor this year already asked for stronger evidence around change management and deployment authorization, so now there is pressure to clean this up quickly. I have around two months to either improve the existing pipeline enough to generate proper logs automatically, or simplify parts of the process before the audit starts.
