Fin shed help!!! Intense shedding at around 3 months of fin intake

I want to know why the hell is hairfall such a weird thing? I cant even explain how unfortunate i feel for having this as a 19 years old male while watching people with head full of hair pushing 40s, my scalp is visible lost so much ground i am diffused shedder, I definitely think i have diffused shed a lot in this past 3 months where when i stand infront of any light that light is visible through the front of my hair. I even use ketokonazole every other day, twice or thrice a week, when i use ketokonazole my shedding stops very much and starts again after 30h or so of hairwash. But today i couldn't stop myself from making this post to ask whether all of you went through diffused thinning and worsened hair quality from fin, if yes for how long?

DHT ITCH persists even after 2.5 month of 1mg fin per day

I am 19M and facing serious diffused thinning since past 2 years i have lost ground to some extent but expect it to comeback in 1 or 2 years if my hairloss treatment goes the way it should; i am not planning on using oral or topical minoxidil. The issue i am facing is if i dont use ketokonazole in every 48h i can sense serious sebum production; which makes scalp greasy and increases hairfall by multiple folds like 2 days i dont shed completely normal shed but as soon as 40h get passed of me using keto shampoo; scalp starts feely quite itchy and hairs start falling like anything; this also implies that i am still prone to dht and i havent been able to eliminate it irregardless of 1mg fin per day since 2.5 months i expect this to be a good enough time when people notice reduction in sebum production if fin is actually working for them; if fin isnt working for me should i go for dut will that reduce sebum production i have seen many people on the sub claiming that switching from fin to dut almost instanly their dht itch was gone and even hairfall stopped to a large extent; please share your experience on fin or dut regarding sebum control

Almost 2 months on finasteride now, and I’m trying to figure out what’s “normal” at this stage.

My main issue isn’t just hair fall — it’s this constant itchy/irritated scalp feeling. I’m pretty much 100% sure that if I don’t use ketoconazole shampoo every other day, the itching comes back and the hair fall seems to increase a lot along with that urge to scratch or even pull at my hair.

So I’m wondering:

- Did anyone else have this kind of itchy scalp phase while on fin?

- If yes, when did it start improving for you?

- Is it normal to still depend on ketoconazole this much even after ~2 months?

Would really appreciate hearing long-term users’ experiences — whether this settled down over time or stayed the same.

Thanks.
