State of Decay 3, Undead Labs Studioverkauf/Schließung

Insbesondere geht es mir dabei um Undead Labs, die das Survival Franchise State of Decay auf den Weg gebracht hatten wo der dritte Teil nächstes Jahr kommen soll. Ich bin seit Jahren mit auf dem entsprechenden Discord und reddit subs mit dabei und ich hab teilweise echt das Gefühl, dass die Leute keinen Plan haben;

Auf der anderen Seite denke ich mir, sofern das mit den Verkaufs/Schließungsgerüchten stimmt, dass das ganze ein ziemliches Eigenverschulden ist;

State of Decay 3 soll nun neun Jahre später kommen.

Edit;

The Liu Chong Experience

The Prince of Chen is on his way to unleash chaos upon those who seek to destroy the Han! What could have happened, if Yuan Shu did not assassinate him.

Take the advice from someone who played 1.6k hours...

  1. Faction Counsel;

You can use one decree per Counsel member! I waisted over 1k hours without knowing that!

  1. Corruption;

Not an Early game problem but it can take a pay away from your income espec in the lategame. Use Administrators whenever possible to reduce corruption. Lategame use character assignments to reduce corruption. Or 3.

  1. Create Vassals

There are many commanderies on the map that are not worth it. For example if you play Gongsun Zan and you defeated Yuan Shao and probably hold the entire north (east from the black mountains) you should hold Youbeiping (Trade/Peasantry), Wei and Henei (Food/Peasantry), Bohai (Food/Peasantry) and Shangdong (big food/Peasantry), Taiyuan (industry) but give away Dai, Yanmen and Liaoxi and Liaodong (if you defeated Gongsun Du and conquered Taiyuan). Perhaps you could also give away Guangyang if you keep Taiyuan and Bohai if you hold Shangdong.

Giving away commanderies which produces food is fine if you have the bigger food contributing commanderies (in the north it's Shangdong, in the Central Plains it's Chen) and in general it will reduce corruption.

  1. Axe Units

Axe units are criminally underrated. They can easily reduce hostile shield units with ease and can hold their own really good against other infantry.

  1. Early game army

Recommend;

1x Vanguard (red) with 4x Axe Units,

1x Champion (purple) with 6x Spears and Shield units

1x Strategist (blue) with 6x Militia Archers (or 4x Militia Archers and 1x or 2x Trebuchets)

I noticed that most Strategist have the ability "Wisdom of the River" pretty quickly which reduces the enemy armor and melee evasion by 100% each. In the entire game but also early game and especially when facing stronger enemy heroes, you can quickly overcome your foes, aiding your heroes in duels.

  1. Battle without horses in cities

Once your heroes defeated the enemy heroes or overcome the gate to a city or go in through a breach, allow them to attack the enemy units dismounted cause their attack speed is heavily increased when not fighting on the back of a horse.

Early game however you can let them stay on the horses when the Garrison is small and your generals not as strong for quicker escape

  1. Reform tree

A hill were I will die gladly; always go first with the military branch towards the +10% replenishment rate. There is imo nothing more frustrating than having to wait for the army to replenish while the next enemy army approaches my territory. Especially in the early game most commanderies do not have that much population to replenish your army faster. Getting soon fast replenishments really help.

  1. First Shock Cav

My personal favorite are the Lance Units, unlocked when you go towards the 10%replenishment bonus. Compared to the militia they have at least some protection against a row of arrows and can be perfectly used the entire game.

  1. Never go first for the Azure Dragons

They don't have shields and can deal damage but are extreme inferior compared to the Onyx Dragons. After the 10%replenishment, go for the Onyx Dragons next.

  1. Use your spies

Especially early game they can be powerful. Even on Legendary you can sometimes snipe other legendary characters from other factions who can be a huge backbone once you were able to recruited them for your cause.

Remember - vassals can become Challengers too

Currently playing Legendary/Legendary as Gongsun Zan.

Everything runs smoothly, but that run was so cursed. I followed the historical part and declared war on Han Fu who fused into Yuan Shao. But guess what happened then?

  1. Yuan Shao declares war on me. Ok. Nothing wild. However I could secure entire Behai commandery but instead of attacking me Yuan Shao also declares war on Cao Cao. And that was awesome because I hate it when Cao Cao throws schemes left and right from the start and normally he and Yuan Shao are not attacking each other in the Early game.

  2. Defeated Yuan Shao and took all of his territory except for Henai which was occupied by Cao Cao. Defeated Zhang Yan and destroyed him also. Got military access and trade deal with Zheng Jiang.

  3. Shit got real, somehow Yuan Shu takes over Chang'An and holds the emperor! Never had that happen.

  4. Two turns later, Lady Wu occupied Nanyang and takes the Emperor even deeper into the South...

  5. Cao Cao invited me to his coalition with Liu Biao, I vassalized Liu Bei. I took over Chang'An and got a little foothold in the East.

  6. But what is that? King Meng Huo had taken over the farm at Chen?! What? How?

  7. Cao Cao kicked me out of the coalition, I declared war on him, defeated three of his armies and then vassalized him.

  8. Lady Wu declares war on me, I and all my vassals declare war on her, I defeat her several times, everyone got over 300 to 400 relation with me. Life can't get better.

  9. Oh, I can become Emperor? Let's go!

  10. Cao Cao and Liu Bei declare themselves Emperor... total mayhem...

Legendary/Legendary

Since I'm 50 hours into the game (currently 1.6k) I have always played on campaign difficulty Legendary. But battle difficulty was most of the time just Hard.

Decided to try out Legendary battle difficulty and I think it's really manageable and I never thought that some units are worth it.

Currently playing as Gongsun Zan and got him 2x Shock Cav and 1x his White Horse Fellows, Zhao Yun got 4x Axes and 2x Jian Swords while Jinting got 4x Militia Archers and 2 Trebuchets.

The start was really easy, got the mine and the trade port, for the Dilemma I went with the historical way so Han Fu got fused with Yuan Shao.

I went to take the nearby Fishing Port at Bohai and shortly after that Yuan Shao declared war on me (that's where I switched Jintings 6x Militia Archers to 4x and 2x Trebuchets) but I instead went to the nearby city to take it and it worked really well. Yuan Shao made Liu Yu his ally and also Gongsun Du broke his trade deal and his non aggression pact with me and declared war after two more turns.

Yuan Shao had the capital of Anping which I conquered immediately and I also took the farm a turn later.

Surprise, surprise, Liu Yu declares war on me as Gongsun Du before him.

Back to Yuan Shao;

Han Fu and Zhang He (both absorbed into Yuan Shaos faction) tried to attack me but both got destroyed and joined me. Yuan Shao wanted peace so he payed me 150 gold per turn for 10 turns.

My army at Anping wasn't able to to move fast back home where Liu Yu besieged and sadly successfully conquered my main city. But then it happened;

He attacked the nearby mine but I was able to defeat him. Thanks to that defeat, my main army then conquered his territory on their way back home to retake my capital. First he lost the entire Dai commandery and then his capital at Guangyang and met his fate at the succefull siege at the capital of Youbeiping.

Gongsun Du? Well he marched near to my port where Tian Kai and Gongsun Xu where stationed (without army, only Garrison) so he didn't attack.

After 10 turns Yuan Shao redeclared war.

He besieged Anpings capital (and declared War on Cao Cao) so I came back to break the siege;

I placed the Jian Swords left and right from my 4x Axe units into shield wall;

Yuan Shao fields so much Cav on both sides of his flanks my Shock and ranged Cav (and Gongsun Zan/Zhao Yun) can only take on one side.

However since my Jian Swords are in Shield Wall the his melee cav really got huge problems to overcome them.

The Axe Units with the combination of Jintings armor debuff of 100% really can hold themselves in the combat against his Defenders of Hebei.

After that battle I executed Yuan Shao and now I'm on my way to take over the entire north.

I really have to say that I expected especially Yuan Shaos heavily armored troops to be way more deadly on Legendary battle difficulty but with some tactic it's really doable and easy.

Win the Cav battle so fast as possible to the help your front lines. And I really rarely used purple/melee units, most of the time only shielded spearmen but hell, Axe Units can eat through shielded units so fast and break the morale of them it's crazy. And against unshielded units they hold themselves really well too.
