Travel Tripod
Would you buy a hybrid octopus tripod + selfie stick + travel tripod for action cameras?
I’ve been filming a lot of solo travel content with a GoPro and keep running into the same problem.
I want:
An octopus tripod that can wrap around trees, railings, etc.
A selfie stick for handheld shots.
A tripod tall enough (around 1–1.4m) for cinematic walk-by shots.
At the moment I end up carrying multiple accessories.
I’m thinking about a design where:
Three GorillaPod-style flexible legs fold up alongside a telescopic pole when packed.
The centre pole extends to around 1–1.4m.
The legs can either wrap around objects or lock into tripod positions.
GoPro mount on top plus a standard 1/4” thread for cameras and phones.
Weight hook underneath for stability.
Packed size would be around 35cm and it would fit in a backpack side pocket.
