[PS2] Drive Cage rusting

Hey Reddit. I recently did a refurbish on my PS2. Caps replaced (since I was already in there), thermal pads replaced, dust and dirt cleaned, etc. I also added a RetroGEM and Noctua fan mod.

The cage for the hard drive had a half dollar sized chunk of rust on it. I soaked it in some Evaparust and got rid of it after some scrubbing.

How do I prevent it from rusting in the future? My fear with cold dip galvanizing (spray) is that particles will start falling off and circulating with the cooling fan running. I tried electro galvanization, but it didn't take well and I fear it will also just flake off inside my PS2.

What are some suggestions to deal with potential rusting in the future?

[PS2] Clicking when disc starts.

I just replaced the laser in this PS2, and it works very well.

However the disc rotation motor or something within the assembly clicks or knocks when a game attempts to boot. Once the disc is at full speed, the noise stops and everything works fine.

Is my motor going out? Is there a known issue with a 20+ year old capacitor that helps start the motor? Is there a common mechanical obstruction that happens when a disc tray has been reassembled?

Any experience with this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Weird distortion on my bed layer.

What causes this rumbly distortion on the right hand side?

Elegoo Neptune 3 MAX

Nozzle 210°F

Bed First Layer 70°F

Bed Remaining Layers 55°F

Filament is PLA+

The PLA+ is from eSun and it recommends a nozzle temp between 210°F - 230°F. I tried this with 220°F and the same thing happened.

My bed temp is 70°F for the first layer for adhesion. I drop it down to 55°F so my corners don't lift.

I did a bed level calibration before starting the print. I'm not sure if I can get that bed any more mechanically level than I've already done.

I'm running out of ideas. How can I stop this distortion?
