I'm in coastal Virginia and just this past week, my bird feeder on my back porch has been constantly swarming with finches! I haven't seen them at my feeder all summer, usually just cowbirds, mockingbird and cardinals. Now, it's just finches and there's almost always and least 2 or 3 snacking away. Are they babies just recently leaving their nest? I've never seen so many.
My husband starts his treatment in August and was wondering about what wipes are best to use after urinating? Do they have to be antibacterial?
I don't know who we would need to write or call but this is absolutely absurd. You schedule a ride, a week in advance. You get the notifications that your ride has been scheduled. You have no idea who's coming or a roundabout arrival time. 15 minutes before your scheduled pick up time you get a notification from Uber that they're looking for a ride for you! I put my pickup time 30 minutes before the appointment time because I didn't want to risk being late. Eff this shit, I cancel the MTM request. Immediately request an Uber on my own, driver shows up in 10 minutes and I make it to my appointment on time.
If Medicaid can provide mileage reimbursement for a personal vehicle to a medical appointment, why can't they figure out a way to do it for rideshare?? Never had an issue getting a ride through Uber or lyft on my own to a medical appointment. They can see where I'm going (weekly treatments for bladder cancer) and I've never had a cancelation. But all MTM does is contracts those rides out anyway and apparently, Uber and lyft drivers turn those down. So, why in God's name can't they just reimburse us for the rideshare instead? I don't have anyone available during the day to take me to my appointments otherwise I'd use a friend.
My husband has had a picc in since the end of May when he first went to the er with blood in urine. They removed a few tumors then and had a second TURBT 2 weeks ago, everything came back non malignant. The tube was placed because his ureter tube were blocked (I think) due to the mass in his bladder. Doc says he's clear but he's considered intermediate risk so they're recommending BCG for the standard 6 weeks. His urine has been fine and he has had no problems with flow or anything. Doc capped the tube and removed the bag but doesn't want to close it up quite yet "just in case". They're doing a bladder scan in 2 weeks and will hopefully remove it then but they didn't tell me if I still need to flush it! I hate having it in for so long because I worry about infection. Any advice would be appreciated
Me and my husband are retired and don't drive. Our neighbor frequently helps us out with errands, etc. About a week ago, after he'd dropped my husband off, he somehow hit the brake (he probably doesn't need to be driving either) and hit our garage door. Is our neighbor responsible for filing the claim with his auto insurance or do we have to? We got an estimate yesterday but are they going to require their own estimate? What tips does anyone have for getting this take care of? Appreciate your help.
Suffering a couple extra degrees is better than having to lose a/c because the power grid tapped out. It's happened before.
It's not a downed line or noticeably damaged, it's just weighted down looking. It's from our neighbors house across the street and the wires extend to our yard, some Fios wires mixed in. The pole itself seems fine but it's a lot of wires and they kinda droop towards the ground. Probably over thinking it but figured I'd ask.
My partner was diagnosed back in May. He had his first TURBT and a nephrostomy tube placed on May 26 in thr hospital. He was scheduled to have a second TURBT this coming Monday but the Doc called us yesterday and wants to postpone for a couple of weeks because he noticed some potential infection in his urine and wants a course of antibiotics before his surgery. We were never told about changing the bag, just flushing the tubes. I'm concerned because it looks like the tubing and bag is only good for a few weeks and the doc didn't mention having any of it changed out. It'll be a month coming up next week that he's had this in and am a bit worried😟! I do plan on calling the doctor on Monday to check.
My partner (boyfriend, whatever; the state I live in doesn't recognize common law marriage but we've been together 20 years) was diagnosed with bladder cancer in May. A week in the hospital, they took out a fairly large mass, we go back to have a second biopsy next week to see if they got everything or what's going on. He's 67, in good-ish overall health, and is a smoker but he's down to about 5 a day. Anyway, he has a nephrostomy tube, not sure for how long yet. While we were in the hospital the nurses kind of showed me how to flush the tube. It's a 3-way stop cock, which I'm assuming is fairly standard? We are supposed to flush it once a day but I keep getting mixed messages on which way we're supposed to be flushing!! The nurses in the hospital were flushing UP, my understanding was to clean the tube going into his kidney so that it doesn't get clogged. And he said sometimes it burned. But the home health aide we have coming in once a week is flushing DOWN into the tube going into his bag! She looked at me like I was crazy when I said I thought we were supposed to flush UP! I'm really at a loss and he doesn't want me doing it until I'm comfortable. I've looked online but I can't find good, solid info. I even have read where you really don't have to flush it that often? I'd appreciate any advice you kind folks might have!
