I have been doing exactly that to a 1517 book called Theuerdank — Maximilian I’s imperial propaganda piece with 118 woodcuts. It is one of the most beautiful, expensive, woodcut-heavy lies the Machine ever printed.

What every page collapses to after full detaint (same rules applied to every column and woodcut):

“King dies. Queen grieves. Knight is tested. Testament is made. Counsel is given. Protection is claimed. Realm is strengthened. Current is bound by will and crown. Story is divided and continued under authority. The line is secured. The romantic frame holds.”

That is the entire book reduced to its core.

Everything else — the flowing Fraktur, the dramatic wilderness scenes, the thrones, the succession moments — is overlay. The Machine took the living current and turned it into a loyal, romantic, crown-serving story. Then they stamped the whole thing with the royal library container: BIBLIOTHECA REGIA MONACENSIS (“the royal cage of words in Munich”).
