$605 Kar98a

1915 Erfurt Kar98a. Almost fully matching, only the extractor doesn't match, it's an 87 instead of 82. The auction on GunBroker was poorly named, I think that's the only reason I got it so cheap. Pictured with a 1915 Erfurt S84/98 II bayonet with flashguard.

7" 300BLK Straight Pull

Because why not? I had a spare stripped upper laying around and after seeing 110 SASS Actual's video of his Temu Mini Fix on YouTube, I decided to make my own. 7" 300BLK with a custom charging handle and crudely cut slot in the upper. I'll clean up and straighten the edges of the slot with a file and make it look nicer. Still waiting on the Form 4 for the can.

A bit of an odd bird

Rear Sight Idea

I'm not a huge fan of the rear sight on vz.61's. On my threaded barrel upper (not my traditional OEM upper), I'm thinking about retrofitting a Sterling peep sight. I'll need to make a sleeve to fit the pin to the peep sight, round the bottom corner to allow it to rotate, and figure out a way to install the spring + detent to allow it to lock into each position.

$650 Kar98a

Beer had me overlooking some details on the GB listing photos. It's an import marked 1917 Erfurt. Based on the importer, it came from Turkey and they did the underside sling mount butchering. Some owner here in the US did the terrible varnish job I'm guessing. It's a complete mixmaster, only the receiver and barrel serials match. I don't think I did too awful for $650. However, I ended up snagging a fully matching 1915 Erfurt for $600 on GB. Waiting on that to arrive, not sure what to do with this one now.

My attempt to make the Nydar 47 not so forgotten

I made a picatinny rail mount base for a Nydar 47 I picked up a couple of years ago. My base replaces the OEM base plate that would be mounted directly to the receiver.

V2 of My Scope Mount

I made a V2 of my scope mount. Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Carcano/comments/1tvol1z/scope_mount/

I liked V1 of the mount, but there were a few things I wanted to change. I didn't like how high it sat and the fact that it blocked the use of clips and I would have to single load. So I made a few changes and V2 was printed and arrived yesterday. I can't wait to get started testing! I may use some stainless blackener on the mount to darken it up a bit.

Do we like short Gewehr 1888's here?

This was a custom build from a pile of parts and a spare receiver I had laying around after an 1888 sporter rescue. Barrel is a $50 Kar 88 barrel from Apex. Shoots great! I still need to blue the shroud where I welded the two halves together.

IDF Pilot Survival Rifle AR-7

I found the stock in a parts kit on GunBroker a couple of years ago. Sadly it didn't come with the original barrel. I installed the stock on a Henry AR-7. I added the FAL sling mount, a Kar98k front sight base (with a custom spacer to make it fit the barrel, and an Uzi sling. It's about as close as I'm going to get to the original rifle without spending a ton of money. Next project on it is to fabricate a clone of the stock mounted mag holder that came with these.

Stocks

Next iteration of my stock adapters arrived. Much better than the first version I had printed out of stainless. Still required a bit of post-processing to get things to fit.
