I have a 40 gallon breeder that I would like to set up to use as a breeding tank so I have feeders for my big predatory fish. That being said I don’t know if I should use convict cichlids or make a big live bearer tank with mollies, guppies, and other live bearers. I’ll mostly be feeding fry but would also like bigger adult fish for when my bass gets bigger and for my SA cichlids.
A few days ago I caught a baby bass at a local lake and decided to keep it. The tank ended up looking a little empty so I did some research and found that channel catfish can be kept with largemouth. I caught two channel cat fry and this one looks very different in color, which is the reason I kept it but I later found out it could be a disease. That being said, is this fish healthy, if it’s sick can it be treated, what disease is it, and can that disease transfer to my bass? This catfish is currently in a separate container until I know he’s good to move to the big tank.
