TLDR: Looking for any advice on cuts/adds you would make, your favorite Yawgmoth combos, favorite cards, to ultimately make this a SOLID bracket 4 deck. Budget isn't an issue.
Here is the deck list: https://archidekt.com/decks/19272848/yawgmoth_thran_malpractice
Hey guys, looking for some advice on my Yawgmoth commander deck. I love this deck (black is my favorite color in magic) and I think Yawgmoth is one of the best commanders that showcase what black wants to do.
I originally built this to be a bracket 3 deck, but felt it's true spot resided in Bracket 4. I love how explosive the deck can be, drawing a bunch of cards, removing opponents key creatures, etc. I want advice from other OG Yawgmoth pilots on any adds or cuts you would make to my list. I want it to be very refined bracket 4 list that I can pull out to COMPETE.
Please share any/all of the below items, i'm super curious to see what you guys have!
Hey guys, need some advice here.
I have a brother that loves to play MTG. We have a pod of brothers and buddies that play mainly EDH/Commander, and draft/sealed. He has some commander precons that he has played, but it seems that most games, he doesn't get to "do the thing". And when he does, it doesn't happen very often, if at all.
Part of the reason is that he has a learning disability which makes it more difficult for him to retain meaning when he is reading. So obviously MTG can be somewhat overwhelming at times, but he still does very well given the circumstances .Most of his precons are 3-5 colors, and he we can tell it's more difficult for him to sequence things properly for those types of decks, and we are helping him to learn how to mulligan better, keep better hands, what to look for, and how to sequence his plays. Things like "in a 5 color deck, you need to pay attention to the colors of cards in your hand and what lands/colors of mana you have avilable to play them. Don't just keep a hand because it has 3-4 lands in it". We have played many games where he really doesn't cast/play any thing until turn 4-5 because of these reasons.
And for those reasons, my other brother and I have thought that a 1-2 color deck, That has an average lower mana cost, And is easier to pilot would fit him very well. Our goal is to get him casting more spells, and contributing to the game more, to eliminate some of the "feel bad" of "not doing the thing" while we play commander. Not so much looking for a commander that does the same thing every single game (those recommendations are still welcome), but more so looking for an easy to pilot commander, or strategy that will allow him to contribute in games more, interact more, and overall have more fun.
Would love to hear your advice, see your deck lists, commanders you think that fit this!
