Trust or not?

I live in Texas. Our checking account, savings account, cd's, annuities, life insurance have beneficiaries named. Wife and I on house deed. One car. 3 kids. Should I get a revocable trust? Or would a TOD only do the job?

Painting Peeling

Paint is starting to peel on doors. We repainted a few years back with Behr latex paint. Not sure what original paint was used. What to do?

Voter Suppression?

I remember a story of a voter district that was mainly Native American or maybe Hispanic that was restricted to one voter site and this site was moved out of town limiting access. Somebody tried to provide a bus but the State Police shut this down. After the election an email was found of an election official gloating how she restricted the election. Anyone remember this?

Bond Bankrupcy

I have a bond that filed for Chapter 13. After 2 years surprisingly I just got a small payment from them (about 1% of my investment). How is this treated by the IRS? I would think this would not be income.

No Weep Holes In Shower Pan

I installed a 36"x36" alcove shower pan that does not have weep holes. The manufacturer suggests leaving a 1/4" to 1" gap in the corners when caulking the pan to the tiles. I am installing ceramic tiles over Hardie Board. Does this seem correct?

Cost of Trust

I have an attorney who will create for my wife and I a revocable trust to prevent probate, an irrevocable trust for our house, Power of Attorney and Living Will in Texas for $6,000. Is this a fair price?

Shower Redo

Removed shower install and tile. Want to add a wall creating an alcove shower. The 2x6" framing remaining on the left side is 20 years old but looks solid. No rot. My plan is to add a couple of more support 2x6's under the remaining framing then add 2x6" framing on top of it and attach to the ceiling boards I added. Wall eventually will have cement board and tile added to finish. My question: Any concern with using the old framing to support wall?
