Helloo! I was wondering if there are any people here who are going into their first year next year but are living at home? I am planning on doing this but am very worried about not making friends because I won’t be in halls 😬 Can anyone give advice for this 😭😭
Is there anyone that has done this or applied for this year? I applied just in case I actually get accepted but was also worried that it’s very physics based.

I will be a first year at Vic next year, and will be living at home, however I am a little concerned about my commute so I might look at flatting at some point, maybe during the year.
I was wondering if anyone knows how difficult it is to find a place mid year/during breaks? And since I will be living at home for the most part I am quite worried about making friends and connections, so if I was to flat how do I find flatmates? Sorry if these are silly questions, but its my first time figuring this all out.

Hello, I will be a student next year and I have made a similar post to this before, but I was wondering if anyone could share their experience commuting to campus (specifically Kelburn campus) from pretty far? I live in Porirua and it seems to be an hour and a half to two hour long journey and thats just to get there. It would be my first year and I wont be living in halls (I would want to for the experience but it feels like a lot of money to spend just for that).

Not sure if the title makes sense 😭 Basically I have these two friends who have been some of my closest friends for years now, but I have started to realise the whole time I have been left out and used a lot. I have kind of started to despise them and they have a lot of bad qualities but I need to hold out until the end of the year (graduation).
Recently, one of those friends (friend A) said some horrible stuff about another close friend of mine (friend B), knowing that we were close but not expecting me to tell friend B about it. I did tell her but she told a few other people and it eventually got back to friend A that friend B didn’t like her because of some stuff she had said. I’m afraid she will trace it back to me and all my other friends will turn on me. I am aware that I am at fault here, but also if she didn’t want me to tell her she shouldn’t have said anything?? She literally started off by saying “I know you’re friends with her, but…”

I’m thinking of going to Vic next year for my undergraduate degree, but I live in Wellington and am planning on staying at home at least for the first year. Is there anyone who can share their experience doing this as I am honestly really worried about being lonely in doing so without the connection of uni halls 😭 I know it’s a bit of a silly thing to be worried about but all of my friends are going out of wellington and I’m still a little embarrassed about choosing Vic and staying behind, even though I know its a great school.
Honestly, I think I just need a bit of reassurance 😅

I bought a dress for my school ball but it was from the shop everyone goes to. This is the dress, it’s made from satin! I am mostly worried about having the same dress as others so I wanted to change it a little, e.g embroidery or something along those lines… my skillset is a little limited though. Can anyone help me with some ideas/advice?
