Can we highlight in the bare acts and tab the most important sections with just sticky notes without getting barred?

Hi, so I've ordered the Lawmann's bare acts without notes for the exam, however, there is an index, and footnotes containing statutory information along with comparison table in the new criminal laws bade acts. Can someone who has already attempted the exam tell me if it's permitted?
