Hit by a Scaled Content Abuse Penalty—How Can I Recover My Website?
A site I’m working on appears to have been hit by Google’s Scaled Content Abuse policy. A large number of pages were created at scale, and after the penalty/action, organic visibility and indexed pages dropped significantly.
We’ve started reviewing the affected URLs, removing or improving low-value/thin content, consolidating overlapping pages, and strengthening the remaining content.
For those who have successfully recovered from a Scaled Content Abuse action:
- What did you prioritize first?
- Did you remove a large portion of the content or focus mainly on improving it?
- How many days or weeks did it take for your website to start recovering?
- How long did it take to see a significant recovery in organic traffic and rankings?
- Did you submit a reconsideration request, or did Google recover the site algorithmically?
- Were there any specific changes that made the biggest difference?
Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has gone through a similar recovery.
